Despite the passion, the hurt, the love, the pathos in Aurora’s songs, it’s important to realize that almost all of them are purely made up and created in her head, from her stunning imagination and creativity. She just pours her emotions into the performance and makes it seem so real.

The murder song is about a story she read in a newspaper about an assisted suicide. A woman begged her husband to kill her before her terminal disease got any worse. It was a real story about real people.

@@eyemagistus she has said in interviews that the song was not about real ppl, but characters that she writes about. Tho it may have been inspired by that event (it is not confirmed by her iirc). This song is about those characters as is It Happened Quiet.

A really nice reaction 🤩 This song is so sad. It’s about mercy killing. She’s singing from the womans point of view, and she doesn’t want to live anymore. And she knows that he’ll do anything for her. And when he holds her in his arms and realise that she won’t wake up, he cries and cries 💔 Aurora said in an interview: "First of all, I have a really vivid imagination. You know that these things may be happening to someone right now. It's kind of a terrifying thought. I just had to get that thought out of my head - and that's why I wrote this song. But the two characters are actually just made up in my head. I've written many songs about them - maybe I'll make a book with them." Aurora rarely writes songs about herself. Please react to: “All Is Soft Inside” live at KEXP 2018🙏😍

The male vocals on this really gave it another dimension and with just the guitar it’s phenomenal. I’ve never had a vocal performance give me the chills quite like this did. I’ve probably watched this version a thousand times. And those beautiful expressive eyes of Aurora just keep you transfixed . She’s a one of kind. Sweet adorable and cute as cute can be.

I’m a 48year old metal head, and recently stumbled across Aurora. She’s amazing, other worldly, ethereal… I’m a fan, I’ve added nearly her entire catalogue to my play list. Her live performances are excellent, pick any of them! Conqueror live on Jimmy Fallon, or It Happened Quiet live at the Current are great next videos.

Hi Samantha... the story behind the song turned actually out to be false. For a long time, it was believed that Aurora was inspired by a local newspaper article about a man who killed his wife for mercy, because he couldn't stand to see her suffer anymore. But in a later interview, Aurora stated that the two characters came out of her own mind. She "invented" these two characters and described the act of mercy killing - in the most impressive way possible - from the view of the victim. I love both versions very much. Each version has its beauty and passion.... her facial expression is unbelievable, in both versions. But this stripped down 2015 version, however, in all of its "rawness", together with the accompanying singer and guitarist, exposes her vocal qualities more... in the Nidarosdomen version, it's the beautiiful instrumentation and arrangement, that convinces the listener - BESIDES Aurora's interpretation. What would the next Nidarosdomen song be ? I'd suggest "It happened quite", since then you have another song that you can compare two different versions with one another. This Nidarosdomen version was actually the very first time, Aurora sang this song in public. Best wishes from Germany : Gerry

The original version is not wrong. I saw an older interview at the time and she told the first story. With the hint that it happens all over the world. It has also been said again and again that the song is INSPIRED by it. INSPIRED, it is said to have influenced the song and not that the song tells this story. This is an essential piece of information that you leave out. You just say the story is wrong. You just didn't see the interview.

I found an old german article with this quote + translation: "“Murder Song” handelt von etwas das ich im Radio gehört habe aber ich habe meine eigene Version daraus gemacht." Translation: ""Murder Song" is about something I heard on the radio but I made my own version of it."

Although I've seen these perfromances so many times, it's hard to tear my gaze away from this singer .... But this reaction was an exception. Her voice and movements pull you into her songs, making you part of the story. From what I have heard, this song is about someone with a terminal illness, in great pain that will only get worse. But her songs are open to some personal interpretation.

In Aurora’s face I see mind numbing fear and sheer explosion of terror which overloads our psyche. What monster could destroy such a beautiful loving creature, the song is almost too much to bear. That’s how it makes me feel, anyway this kind of trauma is soul destroying, if you understand where I’m coming from on this. It is probably the most powerful song I’ve ever heard and way too much pain to deal with this song, I don’t want her coming out with any more songs like this, Aurora please! Keep it rainbows and roses please, such a dark song coming out of such a beautiful fair fairy creature. There is definitely some dark corners in Aurora‘s mind. Love your reactions Samantha❤️

Haha :) I knew you would say that after reading the comments on the other one (i'm 1 min into the video). Yes, all the Nidarosdomen songs are stunning. More than stunning. But this particular performance is her best of this song, for sure. Same goes with "It Happened Quiet" she also does that at Nidarosdomen, but the very best version of that one is the "live at the current" one.

As several have pointed out, this is nothing of a aurora's personal experience. She read about a man who had helped his loved one who had a terminal illness. I don't know how, but I guess it was not in a legal way. Emphatic as Aurora is, she felt this person's agony and therefore this song .

Amazing reaction, my eyes go big and wild every time I see this performance. I saw a reaction once and the person related it to something that will haunt me forever... Fair warning, its upsetting and broke me, but I think it's a perspective I've never heard other than that one time... . . . . You're getting a second warning, it's related to animals... . . . Third warning, it's about the death of a dog... . . . . They said that they thought about their dog, and how the voice she's portraying could be what the dog would say if they could talk. I'm so sorry if you didn't heed my warning and this has upset you. I think it's very interesting, albeit heartbreaking.

Great reaction as always. I agree with others who suggest taking a look at the amazing warmth and positivity this young woman is capable of delivering. Any of the suggestions below can turn a bad day into a celebration. They are the ones I go to when I need to recharge my supplies of optimism. Queendom (Live Sessions or Official for the visuals), No Cure for Me (Official Video because it's amazing), Heathens(Live Performance is best), Giving into the Love (again Official Video has important visuals).
