This song is from 1913 and has been covered by countless artists, but is probably most known from the movie Oh Brother Where Art Thou. The bridge in this rendition is a Geoff original.

I'm pretty sure I've never been happier to be called "squishy" than when Geoff did it!

As a very independent artist just starting to put videos out on KZitem, let me tell you the number of hours it takes to edit a video. Not only editing but picking the song, praciting it, filming the video, doing the costumes and make up (if there is any) and then finally putting it up takes SO LONG. Thank you for bringing attention to that aspect. Not many reactors do. Also, I adore Geoff and VoicePlay and love your reactions.

The song was written in 1913, so any recording you hear is going to be a cover.

I was going to say it’s so old I’m not sure anyone knows who the original singer is. I think that’s also true of “House of the Rising Sun.”

It was published by a mostly blind folk singer Richard Burnett in 1913. Like Shenandoah and old folk songs, its origin are probably a hundred years earlier than that.

The song is from the movie O Brother Where Art Thou but, the track in the movie was done by the country/ bluegrass group Union Station.

He is so good that things tremble at the mere thought of his low notes.😆 A different reactor had a picture fall of the wall when Geoff hit a low note

I suppose if you love writing harmonies the only way to show them off on your own is to be your own backing group. So that's what he did. And he excels at it. I think his lowest note is a B0 which is almost off the end of a piano keyboard. As yet he can still be heard by humans but maybe in time he will produce notes that can only be heard by elephants. Or whales. :) And yes, he deserves so much more attention.

Great reaction again😊 Geoff is just an amazing singer. What amazes me the most tho, is that he can keep track of all the singing parts and then act those parts out. He's got so much talent.
