Home Free is very generous with its talents, and has a history of supporting up-and-coming artists. They have collaborated with legends in their own past, and provide the same spotlight time in turn. Brooke Eden certainly deserves the spotlight! You're way too young to have heard "American Pie" in its original place in history, but you can hear it now because Don McLean, himself, reached out to HF for a 50th anniversary a cappella remake! I recommend it for your own reaction. Collabs are a big thing with our guys.

Based on some of your comments, I think you would really enjoy their version of I Can't Outrun You. It's also a song where Chance takes the lead as well as directing the video. As a musical theater person, you would probably also love Austin Brown's version of Bring Him Home on his solo KZitem channel. He is the high tenor you were talking about. Tim Foust (the bass) also has a solo KZitem channel with lots of great material that shows off his entire 5-octave range.

Great song. Bette Midler did it first in 1971 but I remember Tanya Tucker & Helen Reddy's versions. The guys did a really nice job backing up Brooke Eden on this song. They never take away from a guest vocalist. And how cool did they all look dressed in the western theme. Reminded me of the Clint Eastwood spaghetti western movies I used to watch. Some of my favorites are "Take Me Home Country Roads", "In The Blood", "Ring Of Fire", "Blue Ain't Your Color", "How Great Thou Art", "Elvira", "Hillbilly Bone", "American Pie", "Brother In Arms", "One Man Band", "Listen To The Music" etc.

As an older person, I was a fan of Country from 50+ years ago (50 years ago, from my own childhood, + falling in love with my mother's favorite country from 70 [yikes] years ago). But then, fell out of love with the genre with the rise, and homogenization, of Country Radio™. And I love that Home Free is bringing back the older, "classic" sound of Country, even with more modern songs.

The ending is the best…Austin soaring to a D5, Brooke countering with an E5, then Austin says "I see your E 5 Mrs. Eden and I'll raise you a minor 3rd with an incredible soaring trill to F sharp 5, to the G5 before the downward run to the tonic D5! If you listen to Mrs. Eden's downward run as Austin is up in la la land with legit soprano territory, you'll hear that Mrs. Eden ends on the tonic D4 a full octave lower than Austin's D5. Adam swallowed a drum set as a child for sure, but that ending was special. It could be so easy to miss but remove Adam from the ending for sure and it will lose its power. The use of very subtle syncopation really drove the ending home and made it so much more than what was originally written on staff paper. Rob and Chance did an amazing job, and most will miss how much these two gentlemen really pulled this together. You'll really have to pay attention, but both have runs going on in the background that are hidden, but stunning. Without them, there can't be a 6-part harmony and it wouldn't be close to being as full and rich as it was. Tim, my man, holy hell. Simple bass line was never strained whatsoever since most of this bass line is no kidding the same as your natural speak voice. The resonance of your C2's and when it changes key midway through to D major, the D2, really POP in the headphones for sure, though we all know how effortless that is for you. You would think that adding a female could potentially alter the blend. I had a split-second thought of, oh no, this is going to be too much like a Pentatonix sound and that's not what I'm here for. Like I said, split second. Home Free is still gonna Home Free and with the top support of the tenors (especially Austin in this collab), there was no doubt. Austin ends up spending much of his time at or even above Brooke's pitch, which let's be honest here, we all know Austin can do. Brooke's sound was hauntingly beautiful and could almost be confused to the Tanya Tucker sound had such technology existed in the recording studio 50 years ago. I feel Brooke's voice is cleaner and purer with just the near perfect amount of "twang" needed for such an iconic song such as Delta Dawn Such talent from all 6 of them. I’d love another collaboration with Brooke in the future! Especially in the country realm (though we know Home Free can perform just about anything and sound amazing), this group of 5 men can perform with any artist, groups, or whatever. Home Free doesn't do covers, they do upgrades. This is another example where a song was basically dead and buried, they've resurrected it, and now have made it their own. This happens time and time again. Why their page has less than 2 million subscribers across the globe is beyond me. At least we get to hear the amazing!

Your reactions are great. Two videos in which you can hear all of their voices: their cover of John Denver's "Country Roads" and their collaboration with Don McLean on American Pie. A must-see also is their collaboration with Kenny Rogers on "Children, Go Where I Send Thee." I have two improvements to suggest: 1) make yourself larger on the screen. We want to pay attention to you, and the current setup precludes that. 2) The discrepancy between the volume when you're speaking and the HF video (at least in this one) is extreme, so we have to turn you up when you come on, and then when you go back to the video, the sound level is ear-splitting. Hope you'll be able to correct the balance.

This song has never appealed to me. And I think I just realized why when you were talking about repeating the chorus. This song is almost all just the chorus over and over and over...and over. It's just boring. Except when Home Free sings it because their arranger is fabulous at making repetitive things interesting. The same thing happens in When A Man Loves A Woman, another boring, repetitive song I don't like. But Home Free MAKES it interesting. And they do it again in another song that is so repetitive and boring - End of the Road, which you really should listen to because they kill it. When I first saw it in their catalog I thought "Really? Boyz II Men? Home Free?". Oh, yeah. And another lead performance that will knock your socks off.
