People are so dense man. It's crazy for me to go onto social media and just see people constantly bash each other and talk out their ass about stuff they have no idea about. There's so much negativity being spread. It's absolutely insane. It's honestly so impressive that you were able to see all these comments and take them as positivity or constructive criticism or just a source of humor instead of getting upset about them. Because honestly I was getting really annoyed just seeing those comments from a third person point of view just because those peoples negativity hurts to see lol. Fantastic video, fantastic doc, and keep up the good shit!

As someone who went mega-viral at one point (people commented daily that they were sick of my face), it was so hard seeing comments that strayed from the point of my video and somehow decided to pick on my looks and voice. I struggled with a lisp for years because I was born with muscle problems and when people focused in on that I felt really let down. Best advice I always give is to talk to people in your life, as you mentioned -- friends and family and any support system you have. They reminded me that actual human beings do not pick apart your looks or care about a slight lisp. Such is the way of going viral, and I'm sure it's frustrating with the reel specifically. But as you said all the comments from people who watched it all the way through were overwhelmingly positive. So the message you intended tell worked! And as someone with a sister who almost passed from an eating disorder, I really really appreciate how you handle food. I hope it helped people look at their relationship with food differently.

Completely unrelated to the video but I’ve currently been having a rough time recently and I really haven’t been ok emotionally. I’ve had to go through some tough things these past few weeks. Although it may seem insignificant to others, everytime you end your video with “even when it doesn’t feel like it, it’s gonna be ok” it is exactly what I’ve needed to hear. I’ve really been struggling and I know it sounds so stupid but watching your videos and hearing you say that at the end has really encouraged me and helped me. It really doesn’t feel like I’m gonna be ok but I know that it will be with time. I just have to believe it. Thanks Sam!

I saw the whole thing and honestly it was a great video. You showed results before and after. You did what you set out to do. If people are too lazy (which this gen is very lazy) to watch your whole video only to comment things that are ridiculous then honestly they really aren't even worth the time in responding to them. I think the whole thing was eye opening. It was awesome to know that Taco Bell is actually caring about making changes. Good on you and thank you for doing the experiment. PS: Weight doesn't always show health because you can be 300 lbs but inside you're extremely healthy but hormones has caused you to keep on the fat or even diseases with the kidneys etc. Ppl really need to stop thinking that weight means you're healthy or unhealthy. Skinny ppl die all the time.

Anyone who operates from a place of shame or guilt is often just projecting that internalized loathing onto others because they don’t think it’s fair for them to feel that way about their health choices while others don’t. Psychology shows time and again how much shame and guilt do not improve health outcomes for any aspect of it.
