this was done during the pandemic, and the theme of people making important phone calls was so much more powerful - that we needed to keep those connections going, even though we couldn't be together in person.

Kevin is a tenor; his falsetto is higher than Mitch's head voice. You might want to check out some of the things he's posted on his personal channel: youtube.com/@kolusola I especially recommend his KOver of "Down": kzitem.info/news/bejne/qn2gzWVvbJplgqA I believe that the lowest I've ever heard Kevin sing just barely dips into the top of a normal baritone range; you can hear that in "Run To You." It's five part harmony throughout, but Ed Boyer, who does all of their audio mixing, has managed to make the voice of the singer the camera is looking at just slightly more distinct than all the other voices. It's very subtle, not enough to be noticeable if you're just listening, but it makes it much easier to distinguish voices if you're watching. (And Ed is as much of a genius at what he does as the members of Pentatonix are at what they do.) Matt is the bass, but his range is huge. Currently he tops out in the upper end of a normal tenor range. This is from October of 2021, so his range was a bit less when they recorded it (Matt's range seems to be growing by the day recently), but even so it can be hard to distinguish his voice when you have nothing visual to go on.

One thing I appreciate about your articulated ramblings is the context you give for each song. I'm old enough to have been around when this song first came out. But I completely forgot that there was a movie titled "A woman in red."

Love love love your reactions! I think each scene is linked to the next. In between the transition from the first scene to the second you see both of them equally on the screen with a wall between them - as if the conversation was between them. And that same process evolves through the other scenes as well. I also love what they did with this iconic song that we all know so well! Very respectful to the original melody, but still giving their Pentatonix flair that we all love and expect! Gorgeous!! ♥️🙌🏻

Just came across your channel and did subscribe. We Pentaholics love actual reactions to our beloved Pentatonix or else we can just listen to their music by ourselves. Therefore thank you. Greetings from South Africa

I really enjoyed your analysis as always! You kept flipping between discussing the visuals and the music which just made me realize more consciously how beautifully connected they are.

Wow!! Thanks so much David for that detailed and interesting analysis of this underrated cover. It's often missed by many reactors, more shame them! But hearing it through your explanations and knowledge, I most certainly appreciate it now more than I used to.

This song that I loved so much when it came out, but was so overused by phone company advertising that it ended up losing much of its impact. It became something it never should have been. It was not wven entirely rescued by Pentatonix entirely for me. I almost didn't watch this, but i am so glad i did, hearing it through your ears was like hearing it for the first time. I don't usually cry watching reactions. Even with articulate ramblings, the song is new.
