I really respect Frank for being open with his sexuality on this album. Back then he actually got a lot of hate for it. People would discredit him and slander him bc of it. Probably bc R&B/Hip-hop at the time had little to no LGBTQ representation. But he stayed true to himself and I admire him a lot for that.

The chorus in super rich kids was Frank Ocean himself. Earl Sweatshirt was just that one verse

Thanks for telling me this. Frank's spoken word trips me up because it's so different than his singing voice. Earl's verse is amazing too.

So fun fact, Start samples the PlayStation 1 startup and when you see it, it shows the old Sony logo which is notably, bright orange, I’m sure he included that not only to represent a part of his childhood but also to represent the orange of the album title

Cool review!! If you like Franks music, you should definitely check out an album by a new artist called "Xander Moon". I came across this record called Hallucination I and it's really cool. I don't promote this, I just think you might enjoy the project:) It's a mixture of indie pop, alternative pop/rap and soul. I personally love it!

Alright. First things first, this album was when Frank first came out to the world as Bi. There was a passage that came with the album when it was released. #2 Pyramids is a song exhibiting how the Black Woman went from a strong queen in her homeland to now only be seen as degraded and a stripper in this song #3 Bad Religion- can be seen as just an ordinary unrequited love but I see it as because he's Bi god will never love him. The cyanide in a styrofoam cup is referencing cults that drink that to meet "god" #4 Forrest Gump- this song is from the perspective of Jenny. But maybe he also relates lol.
