I've made this comparison as it pertains to Daft Punk: I like to imagine this is what it felt like for our parents and grandparents when The Beatles broke up. That's how important Daft Punk is for music and, really, culture as a whole. The music scene will feel a little more empty without the hope of a new Daft Punk album, but this is a chance for a new musical act to rise and reach the levels Daft Punk did.

Wow... Thank you for sharing your emotional reaction. I feel touched knowing that Touch had meaning and touched others like it touched me. I just heard the news 💔, watched the Epilogue which ended with my favourite song which in turn led me here. ‘Get Lucky’ may have won the grammy however Touch was sadly the most underrated Daft Punk song for reasons I can understand why. I didn’t resonate with it for a long time and always skipped it thinking it was ‘eerily creepy’. Years later, one day I was out running and forgot to select next track, as if hearing it for the first time and without realising I was still listening to the Random Access Memories album, I thought “what the hell was that!? What song is this? Wait, Random Access Memories... Touch!? Hang on, how come I don’t know this song??”. With too much confusion going on, I stopped, sat on a park bench, played it from the beginning, closed my eyes, and really, really listened to it, wanting to hear everything and every sound. I was completely stunned, I was speechless, Touch took me on a journey, one that transcends space and time, away from this physical world we wake up conscious too every morning. It was deeply psychological, yet profoundly human. Still to this day no other song has ever blew my mind like Touch has and it still gives me goosebumps. Anyway, that was the long answer to a question no one asked! Haha I love synthwave and retro too so happy I ‘stumbled’ across your channel, will definitely check out more of your stuff! Thank you again Jonathan.

Man, that intro got me. I moved away from home and friends 3 years ago to gain work experience in my career field. I'm a motorcycle mechanic, and the at the shop i work in, I work alone all day besides seeing the owner here and there to see what work needs done that day. Then i just go home or to the grocery store. So really....the last 3 years, i've just been alone. I'm just surrounded by old farmers, with no one my age around to share my interests with. I really got into synthwave because i just put youtube music on in the shop and blast it all day. It's how i found your channel. Finding someone like yourself to kindda listen to music with and know that you aren't afraid to show your feelings is extremely refreshing. I'm finally moving back to my home state of arizona in a couple of weeks and i couldn't be more excited to see some old friends and family again. But i am glad i took this time away, because i really got comfortable with myself and learned a lot. You're a cool dude. You keep doing you and never stop these videos! I didn't know DP were retiring. I have a lot of great memories that had Daft Punk playing in the background. I'm ready to start life again.

Man you made me tear up haha. This is such a beautiful song. For me, this song feels like a quick video of my life. Starting off with Paul Williams painting off a moment of my current thoughts. With a sense of wonder, innocence, curiosity and desire. The upbeat a few minutes in reminds me of my 20's when I was more social and living a different kind of joyful life. More care free and thoughtless. Then the sudden slow down being my darker days when I was all alone and I was going through some things for a few years. I was just trying to hold on, but it was hard. Then one day the sun came out and I felt something I haven't felt in a long time. My heart began to feel love again. My inner innocence and sense of wonder returned. Now even with the current hard times and being alone most of the time while being far from home. Life isn't so grey and bland anymore for me. I see life in colors again and I desire live. I can handle things better now. The pace and beauty of this song reminds me of those times. Thanks for the video and hope you are doing well!

I remember near the end of august 2020 i had just gone thru a breakup, and i was preparing for high school, I got even more attached to music and i was just laying in bed for hours just listening to this song. I've been listening to Daft Punk since Cartoon Network played Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger on a Ben 10 promo in 2005. Then I discovered them at last at Toonami's Digital Arsenal with the Midnight Run Special Edition promo. I wished I'd listen to Touch earlier when it was first released to me, a struggling high schooller, facing introversion, rejection at the time, bullied for only speaking English in an Indonesian country, being the new kid whose weird ever since my parents got deported and me and my siblings moved with them since I was 10 at the time in 2008. I longed for some reassurance of acknowledgement like this song. Thanks for the memories Monsieurs Guy-Manuel and Thomas...

Oh Jeez I’ve seen so many videos on KZitem and Hands down by far this is the Greatest. I’m not joking in floods of tears because this is what Music does. And seeing your reaction to this song I’m lost for words at this time I needed this. Thank you

I gotta say, thanks for filming this man. Your video om loop has made making it through today (a real rough day) just a bit easier. I don't usually stay on top of music news, so I only heard about Daft Punk splitting up from a friend yesterday. I was fine that whole day, but this morning for some reason it hit me hard. I remember the first time I heard "Da Funk" and "Burnin'" on my local radio back in Highschool. "Around the World", "One More Time," Technologic, all of Tron Legacy marked milestones in my life. And although I have never been a die hard fan that is immersed in their full body of work, they were always a continual presence in the background of my life. A comforting presence that was just always around, and perhaps something I took for granted. With their chapter ending and change for them it feels like something ends and changes for me as well.

7:25 This look like straight from a classic movie scene, the high quality, the music, the emotion.

"Hold on, if love is the answer, you're home." Their break-up really hit me hard. Their music meant a lot to me. Thank you for sharing, I cried as well.
