I don't think Jack's tired of Halloween. He's tired of that being the only thing happening over, and over, and over..... with no other options - like the only restaurant around, with only one menu option, all day, every day.

I agree, I definitely like this one better than the original. You can tell Geoff and Kathy and co. put a lot of effort into making it look and sound breathtaking. The makeup is amazing, and the effects are very impressive for a vid that did not have a huge corporate budget. (Plus I got silly excited at seeing Zero float onscreen.) And Geoff's voice and arranging are stunning, as usual. Oh, but bro? Idk what you're hearing, but it's definitely "well-placed _moan"_ 😄 To be fair to Jack, even the best job would get kind of tedious if you do it long enough. I got bored of working for a craft store in less than three years, and I think Jack has been Pumpkin King for *centuries.* I do agree that Geoff doing "Paint it Black" would be awesome.

Even more impressive is that Geoff did all the editing himself. Well he credited himself as the only Editor so I assume he did. If I had to guess, I would say he probably used Pattycake's Tech and Software since he shot the whole video at Pattycake's Studio. That's probably why it looks so good. He also credited Layne and Tony for helping him under the Pattycake Credit so it wouldn't surprise me if they helped Geoff refine the video in the edit. It would also not surprise me if one or both of them provided the harmonies for when Jack "screams." Then again, that could also be "Layered Geoff." But if Layne was at the studio anyway while Geoff was doing all the recording, then, heck, why not?

@@ForeverDegenerate Geoff did all the audio recording in his home studio, so all the voices are his. He does all but the final audio edit, which is done by Ed Boyer. He also does all the video editing in his home studio. He’s been doing video editing for his arrangements for Voiceplay for years. He and Layne have both become quite skilled at it. Tony and Layne helped with the setup at Pattycake. Including their piano and some of the other props owned by Pattycake. (There’s quite a story about the acquisition of that piano by Layne and Tony!). They even supplied the snow machine.

I guess it depends on how long Jack has been dead..... if he's been scaring people for centuries, I suppose it could get kind of old. Great reaction guys!!

This has always been one of my favorite songs 😂 I love the chaotic melodrama of it. I think Jack just is tired of everything being EXACTLY THE SAME EVERY SINGLE DAY. Which I couldn't relate to more 😅 Chronic boredom is an issue. But even Christmas doesn't make him less spooky and demented. He just wants something new and different to obsess over lol

Hi ! I just wanted to say that Jack isn't tired of Halloween as much as he is empty from loneliness (which is conveniently addressed by having Sally fall in love from afar LOL) But once he realizes that his people depend on him, he stops trying to be something he's not suited for in a vain attempt to fill his heart with things and instead he rescues Sally and Santa and he is renewed. Also 'happy ending' for everyone except Oogie Boogie which is not just a Disney trope, it IS however a favorite trope of mine since real life can so often be hard, mean, sad and lonely so... in my entertainment I enjoy happy, sappy and slightly convenient endings. (Also, you sir are 12 and thank you for not actually showing booty, your lovely wife is correct it is MOAN not MOON ). To be fair, this song in the movie does accentuate Jack's spoiled brat side and he IS whiny, not coincidentally this is also my least favorite song and I generally skip it when I watch the movie. Geoff's version though is on repeat on my phone and has joined several of his and Voice Play's recordings on my spooky season permanent playlist. I very much enjoy seeing the two of you react to Geoff and Voice play and will gladly tune in for Pattycake Productions videos too. The Villain's Lair is a favorite playlist of mine as well. Stay safe and have fun you two.

I didnt watch the whole movie, only the original version of this song. It was fun. But after the Geoff's version, I felt like Jack's must-be character and voice is precisely should be this. If you haven't before, please react the Hellfire cover, too. Thanks. Note: It was "moan" 😁

Most of the Halloween props came from Geoff and Kathy's house and yard. As far as being tired of the same old thing - I suppose it depends on how many centuries you've been doing it.

Please don't say we're "out of songs" from this movie. I still urgently need Geoff to do the What Have I Done? song.

I don’t know that Jack is tired of Halloween. Because when he tries to be Sandy Claws he still does scary things. I just think he wants a change of scenery. As someone who gets bored easily that is some thing I truly can relate to. Things get comfortable and I am looking for something new. It’s always been my favorite song because it’s the one I can relate to more than any of the others. I think he did a better job than the original and I really liked the Danny Elfman version. But this one’s a little darker and a little more relatable to me.

Thank you for another great reaction to Geoff. At the end when they show rhe credits in the upper left corner you see the artwork that it is done by Geoff. He has many of his artwork's in a lot of his videos either showñ at the opening of the video or the end. You can see at the bottom of each artwork ..by Geoff Castallucci.

Have you seen VoicePlay's Hellfire yet? It's so good. I've watched The Nightmare Before Christmas now, last week in fact, but the songs all sounded so empty after seeing what VP have done with them.

Great reaction. It’s perfectly valid to appreciate a performance and still not like the song. I hope you’re planning to react to VoicePlay’s Hellfire from Hunchback of Notre Dame. Geoff had fought doing it because he considers Frollo to be Disneys worst villain, but Layne’s arrangement is fantastic.

You might relate better if you had nothing but a steady diet of Halloween 24/7/365 for who knows how many centuries. Halloween is Jack's job and he's very good at it, but anything will get old when it's all you ever get to do.

The Nightmare Before Christmas was not Disney when it first came out. Disney bought it WAY later, only AFTER the movie did so well. Remember that the original movie 'Toy Story' was done by DreamWorks Animation? 'Toy Story' was pitched to Disney but they did not want DW until AFTER 'Toy Story' BLEW UP and EVERYBODY loved it. Same with TNBC. There's our Monopolistic (opportunistic) International Mega Corporation at work. They don't care about people unless those people have money, and they really just want the money from those pockets; people are just numbers and resources to them. They only want products that are already proven to be money makers and then they BULLY to get what they want. They think they own exclusive rights to ALL Faerie Tales the world over and they even think they already own other peoples' original intellectual properties. They will do ANYTHING to stay in power and they will just keep growing that power.

You are mostly right. However, The Nightmare Before Christmas was released under Touchstone pictures, which was Disney's "Adult Movie" production studio. They then just moved it under the Disney name. I will say though, the history of Toy Story is super muddled. I tried to look into it, but depending on what site you go to, depends on what story you get.

@@HellaDepraved Touchstone was originally a sub of Disney? I did not know that. That's WEIRD. Adult stuff from Disney BACK THEN? Wow. Thank you for letting me know about that. :)

loved the reaction. It's fine if you're not a fan of the song itself, you guys can recognize and enjoy the talent that Geoff's performance brings to it and that's what I like about you guys. Not sure if you guys take requests anymore, its been a long time since I've seen you two stream but if you're looking for an awesome low bass song, Id suggest checking out Colm McGuinness's cover of "Song of Durin". It features Bobby Bass and Jonathan Young so I guarantee you guys would enjoy it.
