Hi guys, I just want to pin this comment because I have SO MANY comments telling me "This wasn't filmed in Australia, this was in the USA". Just a headsup - if you notice someone has said the thing you were going to say, it probably means you don't have to bother telling me. I'm glad you guys enjoy my reaction so much, but it gets very tiring seeing the same comment about where it was filmed over and over again. Thanks guys, and please do stop commenting about where it was from, I do genuinely get it. Thanks!

Australia? This is exactly what it looks like where I live in south Louisiana in the United States. This had to be filmed in the Southern United States. With the oak trees and the moss on the trees and the alligator
@FuzzyMarineVet

This video was shot in the bayou country of deep East Texas or Southern Louisiana. Probably the former as the whole group hails form Texas. The reptile in the opening and closing shots is an American alligator, not a crocodile. That's the tell-tale to know it wasn't Australia. I doubt the Australian government would permit the importation of a foreign reptile species merely for a video shoot.

@QueenoftheNorth That was an Alligator not a Crocodile, that's the American South. Could be South Carolina, Georgia, Florida don't know for sure. This is an old Appalachian song, goes back into the mid 1800s I believe. The main people who settled in Appalachia are Scots-Irish (What you'd call Ulster Scots in the U.K.). This concludes my daily know-it-all factoid session. Oh, and you mam, are F'ING beautiful.

Filmed in Fairhope, Alabama, USA The trees are called Live Oaks. The branches arch overhead and then drape down eventually to the ground. Spanish moss is hanging from every branch along with ferns that grow on them. This part of the Southern USA is swampy. That creature shown at the beginning and end is an alligator. These guys make some of the coolest videos.. Tim Foust, the bass, has at least a 5 octave range and can hit notes that are off the low end of the piano. Live, he makes the ground rumble and the seats vibrate under your butts. They come to Australia on their world tours. They won the sing off the year after PTX. They are the world's only country vocal band.

They are currently TOURING in Australia, but the video was filmed in Alabama. The US has a lot of different environments, some resemble Australia but we tend to have gators instead of crocks... a very small difference between the two. As for the sounds..no instruments, just vocals. The "jews or juice harp" sound at the beginning and end are made by the baritone Chance... and the drum and harmonica are coming from their beatboxer, Adam. He can sound like an entire dance club at once. And the bass guitar sounds are coming from Tims incredibly low vocals.

William, you should check out Peter Hollens, Misty Mountains. He does it with Tim Faust( the bass you just heard ). And he gets lower. And it's all a capella, with just the 2 of them. But Peter will take several recordings and layer them to make an amazing song.

It's all personal taste, but I think Home Free is better than PTX. To my ear, HF's voice quality is slightly better and they have a greater range of music they can perform. PTX is phenomenal, but HF is my favorite.

Australia=crocs not gators. In the south it's gators (Though gators are in the croc family). There used to be crocs on the Cali/Mexico border in the past, but like the grizzly, they're gone. The crocs in southern Florida are protected, and not used for food, leather etc., just farmed gators. Haven't been back home in about a decade but gators were moving north, just like the snappers and armadillos, due to the warming trend.

@jimpemberton
4 жыл бұрын
@@allanpolk2681 I'm sure they are. I didn't mention the whole state because it seems that the farther south you go, the farther north you get with regard to the culture until you reach Miami, which is another story altogether. So I was referring to the intersection of classic deep southern culture with the kind of geography shown in the video.
