That song is definitely not unique though, unless you are mistaking that word for another. Unique means one of a kind, unlike anything else, innovative. Zorja's song is nice, but it is a typical etno ballad. Definitely not groundbreaking and, therefore, in no logical way unique.

This is how I see it (I'm from Serbia): The first one is something no one really listens to, but we feel it's the type of song Eurovision will like. They keep failing, but we keep sending them for some reason. The second one is something people in Serbia will actually listen to. The third one is something people will listen to whether they like it or not because it will always be somewhere in the background (clubs, cafes, shopping malls...). It's also known as "the autotune music".

Though my intimate winner is stil Bejbi by Zoe Kida, I must say that Muškarčina is dangerously infectious! Once you catch it, it doesn’t let you go. It’s like you’re possessed, or under the spell of sorts. Very interesting relationship between the listener and the song. I attribute that to the haunting 9/8 time signature, highly in use in traditional Serbian music and folklore…and once you get into it, it’s so hypnotic. The other culprit is, of course, Sara’s sultry singing and the slick production! When I heard it for the first time on YT it was ok. But then I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing out on anything and heard it on the phones and WOW! So many layers of sound popped out from the depths of the song…and I was hooked!!! Wow. Just wow! A masterpiece really. I actually can’t wait to see it staged!!! Cheers from Lisbon

@@ShanesEurovisionReview gonna tell you why balkan balad is the worst thing in the world-it is just boring and so old fashioned! But...about irregular rhythm in Sara Jo song and why it screws your mind is because it is supposed to do so. Irregular rhythms come from eastern parts of the world and they are mysterious and powerful and you are gonna grow on those rhythms the more you listen and then you gonna be hooked for life! The West(America) discovered this when Dave Brubeck(jazz musician) went on a tour with his band somewhere in the middle east and was astonished hearing street performers playing and then he made his famous song Blue Rondo A La Turk. @@ShanesEurovisionReview I totally get that. I think we're so used to that particular sound here that it's just our every day "whiner". This is not something you can listen to on a daily basis, for fun, no one is going to just put that on their playlist to listen to for fun, at least not in my opinion. It doesn't have that hit quality, and the Eurovision song has to be something that not only embodies the country itself, but also something that pushes the limits of your every day sound. I think Sara has that in her song, both the ethnic sound, the industrial vibe, the experimental beat and the catchiness required to actually bop to it. So that's just my take!

I do understand Sara Jo maybe sounds weird to follow at the beginning, but it’s truly a grower. It has so many layers and elements to discover. Production is really amazing. Give it a few more listens and you’ll understand. You’ll hear a lot of “hey, hey, hey” parts in the background, dark vibe instrumentals.. and my personal favorite, in the last keychange, there is a long and high WHISTLE in the background. I know she’s gonna sing that live, and it’s gonna be explosive. She’s preparing a great performance, and I believe the song will become even better with it. On the other hand, I find Zorja’s production quite weaker, and a bit outdated. I like the song tho, but it’s really done as a “serbian pattern etno song” not very unique. Something people from Serbia are used to. Her voice is astonishing, that’s for sure. I support her as well. Thanks for reacting to our songs💛🥰

@@ShanesEurovisionReview this was only true the first two-three times (last time in 2012). "kruna" from 2019 underperformed. i think "balkan ballads" still have a pretty safe spot in the final, but with placing in the second half of the scoreboard. the "ethnic" sound that seems to have worked better in the past few years has been stuff like ukraine fromn 2021, bold and experimental - which is precisely what i think they tried with sara jo. i actually think that zorja is forced and, tbh, quite unusual. a song like that only works in eurovision. fun fact, those overyodled vocals are a pretty niche style of singing in the balkans. on the serbian music scene i don't think this sound accounts for more than 1% of all songs released. as a niche it works, as being a preeminent representative of the culture it's a little annoying.

It's def Sara Jo for me, so awesome and different and a song I would love even if it had nothing to do with Eurovision. Fun fact, the song is in 9/8 time so that might be contributing to the disorienting "can't catch up" feeling. This is a really cool one for me

@@milutinrs She screams, really?! Sara's song is not experimental, it's mostly some kind of Turkish influenced trash! Nothing against Turkish's songs, but Sara's song is not authentic, it's plane, basic, wanna be everything you've written.... Kad poslušaš pjesmu uz slušalice, bez oduševljenja da je pjeva Sara Jo. To što je ona rekla, nema veze sa životom... I stvarno mi vi gluvi klinci idete na živce...

I feel like zorja’s song has already been performed in Eurovision.I’m Serbian and I know that Eurovision loves unique which is exactly what Sara’s song is.We previously choose singing songs and it has not tuned out too well.I love Sara’s song.It has a lot of potential for the stage whereas Zorja would most probably have dancers around here and would just be standing there.Sara would definitely be dancing

Your facial expressions during reaction to Sara Jo's song while she's singing about her dirty things with a man calling him to bring her to Garden of Eden and then you looking like you are in dilemma while in fact you did not even know what she was singing about was everything 😁 and you whispering "Hoće, hoće" (I want, I want) by the way was so cute ah haha :)

Haha is that what she is singing about?????? This song really confused me 😅 Hahahahaha I didn't think to myself what Hoce Hoce meant....it could have been rude and I have published a video online of me singing something rude haha!
@GospodinNelson
2 жыл бұрын
@@ShanesEurovisionReview It was not rude don't worry. ;) When she says "Hoće, hoće" she refers to man's desire for forbidden lust. The song is pretty much about forbidden lust yeah, but it could have different meanings and interpretations. It might be interpreted as feminist for example.

Зорја је богиња Зоре у старословенској митологији. Песма је управо о томе, буђење, радост, после тешког периоду у животу. Зорја је била улични певач и тако зарађивала за студије. Зорја💥💥💥

Zooooooorjaaaaa, Angelina and Sara cannot hit high notes, that's why their songs sound like they are talking lyrics, and not singing at all. I love them, especially Angelina, but I don't think they would be the best representatives for Eurovision.
