Yes to everything you said regarding the lyrics and impact of the song. The guitar part is simple, beautiful and effective. I imagine it had to be this way given the massive reverb in that space; things can get muddy sonically in such spaces. As a busker, Ren likely developed a keen sense of his surroundings and how best to manage or exploit their soundscapes. Whoever shot and recorded this certainly knew their business.

Through pain and adversity we are united. A chain forged in fire and hammered with strife will always be a very different connection (usually much stronger and not as easily lost, though years may pass between meetings)than those made in times of plenty, feasts and rest. Often when the plenty turns to dust, feast turns to famine, and rest turns to sleeping with one eye open while the devil laughs at us all for fools... one positive thing, though, you'll find out quickly who's a fair weather friend and who TRULY has your back (and not to use as a cutlery rack😂) Keep up the great work!! 😊

I had written another comment on here about the joys of living in a broken body in constant pain, and how the antidepressants and SSRIs and pain meds truly do put that giant ass wall between yourself and the world and also a thicker one between yourself and your own emotional depth and reactions and emotional intelligence. You get so you don't even know how to react to, sometimes extreme, situations. It was a very well written and touching bit, but as I'm also HEAVILY medicated at this moment for pain, I accidentally dropped my phone when I nodded off. When I picked it back up, I touched another video accidentally and erased my beautiful comment. Soooo you'll have to take my somnolant muddled word for it... maybe I dreamed it lol. The other comment above this one, I wrote before my meds fully kicked me in the butt. Going back to dreamland... 💜

I REALLY APPRECIATED the understated guitar line ... We used to take our acoustic guitars into the car parkades in the wee hours after midnight and sing our hearts out. The police would come and let a few songs go by before they shooed us out into the night. God I miss the late 80's and early 90's ... These days if my kids tried that, the police would have their guns drawn and batons swinging. It's a crying shame ... It's those late night night jam sessions with best friends, that shaped who I am now as a person.

Thank you for your unique Ren reactions, I love your perspective. I’ve been bipolar most of my life (60 in a couple of weeks) and have been on every drug there is to find, varying dosages, varying combinations, everything. The first time I heard this song I finally felt like someone understood my struggles and what it feels like to never feel quite right. To want to stay in bed for days. To be having a great time but always remembering this great time will end and I’ll still be me. It’s a deceivingly simple song and it’s anything but simple. The appeal of Ren’s music is that he’s been there, he understands what so many go through with their mental health. Again thank you. Good Morning Matt from ND USA. It brought a bit of excitement to me when O opened youtube and I saw your smiley face and Ren! I literally said outlook "yea my favorite guy". I check often to see if you did a new Ren video. I absolutely Love when you do them, you bring a completely different approach and see/explain your interpretations different from other reactors sincerely enjoy. I really like how your knowledge makes me "think out of the box". I need this especially in today's world as we know it. WOW and every day that I think I couldn't be more disgusted with what is going on in our world, but at the same exact time proud I can't think of the real word I'm looking for. I'm warmed by seeing how although it feels like the world's is in chaos and the wars between nations or their people and governments and power structures makes me happy proud of people all over the world in a movement where it has brought together humans for the purpose of humans. I'm very scared and uncomfortable at the same time hopeful and encouraged that this is the time our chance to change the world for better for future generations. Change is always scary and uncomfortable and that gives me hope bc I haven't felt like this in all my 38 years seeing the world's conflicts. Sorry for the ramble. Thank you for making my day!!! You truly are a special person with a unique purpose in this life! I love getting your take on things because I've come to the same conclusions but it took me much longer. I 💯 am with you that the root of the problem has been ignored and that we are living far from what would feel more natural. ✌️&❤️

@@BustingtheBox Thank you for putting yourself out there and sharing your gift of insight with us. I was born super sensitive in every way (skin, nervous system, stomach, and emotions) and have often felt the world to be too harsh for someone like me. It took awhile to see it's not just me having problems with it. One of my favorite quotes is, ""You," he said, "are a terribly real thing in a terribly false world, and that, I believe, is why you are in so much pain." - written by Emilie Autumn

Absolutely agree what an important and help this song this is to so many, both people suffering and others trying to understand people suffering. The singing and some of the incredible lines really stick with you.

Love your insightful comments, especially because you come across as a really straight dude who would normally be disapproving of difference / aware that says more about me than you / keep up the great work.

Why does my tear ducts just sting every single time I listen to Chinchilla hit those high notes at the end. I have to blink to keep from crying even though I know it is coming. Seriously is there some kind of physical effect of those certain high frequency notes she hits between the ears to the brain?

Hola Matt!!!! Saludos!!!!
