Kochamy polskie miasta i miasteczka. Ich unikatowy klimat, architekturę i mieszkańców. Lubimy swoje rodzinne miasta, miejsca, w których spędziliśmy dzieciństwo. Kochamy miejsca, gdzie mamy przyjaciół i te, które rzuciły na nas swój czar. Pozdrawia stary dziadek.

Generally speaking, I will tell you that Poles often quarrel with each other, but we have never lacked great patriotism, it has always been our country, all the people living here are united by one enemy, and we have always managed to cope in critical moments. We fought against two superpowers at that time, we survived, we disappeared from the maps for 123 years but we came back. It's worse with us than with cockroaches. XD You are doing a very nice job, I hope you will visit our country one day and eat Polish dumplings. Among other interesting historical things, you can read what Poles did in Haiti. Excellent video! In 1940 Great Britain stood alone against Nazi Germany. Hitler was determined to destroy Britain. The British Royal Air Force and Navy Air Arm fought against large scale attacks by the German air force. Many Polish pilots volunteered to fight with the British against the Nazis in the Battle of Britain and were some of the most successful pilots. They were instrumental in Britain’s victory.

this is a history of our grandfathers and great- grandfathers. Nazis hunted down civilians, my own grandma managed to escape from such a hunt ("łapanka") to the nearby forest saving her live, while others were sent to Work Camp. the other grandma survived a Work Camp and grandfather was sent to Germany for the slavery work in the farm. Therefore we shall remember those daily heroes who suffered but nonetheless, did not give up. And learn from the history, so such a tragedy should not repeat.

W wolnym czasie try to this: Bloody Foreigners: Untold Battle of Britain, ale polecam Ci również inną, niezwykłą historię z naszej historii. To jest opowieść o jednym z najsłynniejszych z naszych (submarines) okrętów podwodnych! ORP Orzeł. ORP means Polish Republic Ship ORZEŁ (EAGLE). My, jako Polacy pamiętamy poświęcenie US w WWII...

We, Poles, have a similar history to African Americans in the USA, we were just as slaves, but in Europe we were tortured, we were killed wholesale, women, children, the elderly, the sick, we have more in common than divides us, which is why we value the nation's freedom to self-determine so much, freedom of choice and freedom to follow our own path.

kzitem.info/news/bejne/s6CLnGuBhYtih6w Poland has a very complicated relationship with its neighbors. In 1683, the Polish king at the head of the hussars saved Europe and Vienna from the Ottoman army, and only in 1772, 1793 and 1795 our "dear neighbors" tore Poland to pieces. During the 123 years when Poland was not on the maps, they tried their best to erase any trace of its existence. When Poland finally regained independence in 1918, it took 21 years to create an army which, despite its defeat, was seriously affected by the German offensive in 1939. During the "Battle of Britain" Poles were a serious asset to the allied forces. Unfortunately, after the victory, they were refused participation in the Victory Parade so as not to irritate Stalin and were sent to their homeland occupied by the Soviet Union because "they were no longer needed." Many Polish heroes fighting for freedom died at the hands of communists after the end of World War II.

Are you surprised how we Poles survived this? I'll tell you how. In 17*5, Prussia, Russia and Austria took our state away from us. We tried to get it back many times. In various ways: military, social, economic, cultural. We only succeeded after 123 years in 1918. Only this state was a conglomeration of three different areas. Different in terms of economy, railways, law. We glued it together into one state. And then in 1939 the Germans attacked, and then the Russians. In 1944 our allies from the West betrayed us. We continued to fight, but not militarily. We won in 1989. And finally we had our own independent state. And we have it to this day.

I have a story from that time, that ended rather well. My Polish Grandma was very young then, and she was almost raped one day walking around the town(I believe Lviv, now Lvov, Ukraine). She only escaped the soldier pursuing her, because a family of jews that knew her quickly opened the door and shoved her inside before he ran around the corner. Funnily enough, she used to covertly buy pork products for him as a proxy. They were good to her, and he always let her keep the change. Now, IDK know if it was grandma, maybe great grandma, but i believe it was the former. At the time, the "still just a girl", now worked in nearby Czechia for a different jewish family, she was honest, and looked after them and their things. She got together with a Czech, and they were about to be married, but neither were still well secured financially at the time. As she was deciding on how the imminently simplish, "poor" ceremony would go, they were like: "About to marry, yes? No worries. We will help you/take care of it", in a "come on, no big deal", kind of way. To their surprise, not only was the wedding "covered", but it was beyond any expectations. She had a completely new dress gifted, and The couple got plenty of gifts, and got married like royalty, AND the family secured them a 6 horse carriage for the ride home aswell. I believe the family´s surname was Huber.

1:48: Why goes a looong way back. Poland has been in conflicts with Germany AND Russia for a long time prior, which led to it being nearly erased from the map during the Swedish Deluge and then erased in fact during the Partitions, when Russia, Prussia (Germany) and Austria divided up the former Commonwealth into occupation zones. Austrians get something of a pass considering that overall Poles had more freedom under their occupation than in the Prussian and Russian zones; in those, we "enjoyed" being on the receiving end of ethnic segregation, being pushed out to make room for Prussian or Russian settlers, as well as having our very language effectively outlawed. Colonialism, but it was inside Europe itself. Poland only recovered independence in 1918 - many people who fought in WWII remembered the Partitions and 2:37: They don't mention an important part of the background here. In 1941, Germany decided to not stop at Poland but in fact to attack their former Soviet allies (in part because their negotiations to make USSR part of the Axis failed because Stalin was demanding too much). USSR petitioned the Allies to join them instead, and part of that involved releasing some of their Polish POWs to form what is known as the Anders Army. 4:45: What they don't tell you here is that the uprising failed - in part because the Soviets refused the Western Allies the use of their air fields to drop supplies into Warsaw, and in part because the Soviets outright stopped their advance to wait until the Germans have murdered most of what was left of the Resistance. In retaliation for the uprising, Germans have destroyed roughly 90% of Warsaw - most of the "old" buildings you see in the city these days are post-war reconstructions. 5:00: This is not told in continuity with the rest of the story. Polish cryptologists broke the Enigma in the 30's and passed on their research and duplicates of the machine to the French and British some time before the war broke out, ultimately joining the British code-breaking program. 5:18: Yalta, yes, but this also covers that the Allies effectively condoned Soviet vote manipulation in a 1946 referendum (look up "3xTAK") and 1947 parliamentary elections, bringing Communist factions into absolute dominance over the country. 7:59: For the simple reason of German aspirations to dominance and their objective of exterminating all "subhumans" - as they described Jews and Poles - to make room for German settlers. Roughly three million Polish Jews died in German camps along three million non-Jewish Poles - and the Germans planned to exterminate another eighteen million of us within the next few years.
