Koupes (tha spaso koupes= i will break cups/mugs) is a traditional greek song from the Minor Asia of 1920s'. Marina covered it with her friends in a modern way in 2016 and it is one of her favourites!

Marina is not the best soprano in greece (she could be if she wanted to..) but she is the only soprano coloratura....only a handfulll sopranos in the world are spopranos coloratutas... Maria Kallas din;d make it...its very dificult!!!!! Marina is an oktava higher than most sopranos and can change her voice through most compicated vocal variations of the classics. Guys you are so ...cool ...and you seem very educated in art...I love your reactions. They are so ...honest.... 🥰

You got it right! It is a folk song, from Minor Asia! It is not a storytelling song, it's more of a love letter, love expressing, lullaby 😊

Beautiful Latin adaptation of an old Greek folk song from Asia Minor. Rough translation of Koupes (Cups) goes like: Last night I saw you in my dream (x2) That you had your hairie thrown upon my neck Aman - aman, little one don't cry no more Aman - aman, and everything you want is yours Come my little one, [for me] to kiss you And don't be affraid that I'll talk about it I'll break cups for the words you said And dinking little-glasses for your bitter little-words x3 Aman - aman, little one don't cry no more Aman - aman, and everything you want is yours x2

Tha Spaso Koupes (in Greek: Θα Σπάσω Κούπες) is a Greek traditonal song from Asia Minor, when it was vastly inhabited by Greeks. It's the territory of ancient Greek Ionia. Here is a 1928 recording of the song: kzitem.info/news/bejne/035_x6dspHSfeHosi=l5aAPktSqIdCfHO8

And this is a much more later performance of the song (probably in the early '90's) by Eleftheria Arvanitaki. Satti's interpretation is closer to that. Both singers have high pitched voices, as you can hear it: kzitem.info/news/bejne/yIWnm6aDk2qAY6wsi=cLqpSMTcALxvhFHB

So This song it’s not her but she make it on her way and its lovely too. Marina always she use others instruments to make her music unique. Of course her voice is also unique. The original song it’s on the link below. You can understand the difference. Marina can be just with her friends and to make amazing things. This is what happens on this song-video too. Greetings from Greece and thank you for the support. kzitem.info/news/bejne/0aiPp4iwgmmdfnYsi=wc2cOLS9eslOYH6L
