Dave wrote this after finding out Cliff Burton from Metallica had died. It is not a tribute to Cliff but what Dave was feeling at the time.

Yes this is an amazing concert I own the DVD and it has great bonus features like Dave sitting outside the hotel room in the grass playing an acoustic guitar singing songs with fans. The real highlights are Symptom Of Destruction and A Tout Le Monde. The crowds are always much more energetic and involved than American audiences. You should check out those two songs ❤❤

This song was about Cliff Burtons Tragic Death

Burton's death was the inspiration for this song, but the lyrics are not directly about him, as the song is about remaining true to your friends and being there in their time of need. Mustaine didn't get a lot of support from his family, and also felt betrayed by Metallica when they kicked him out of the band. Reflecting on the song, Mustaine explained that he treasures his relationship with his fans, who have shown him the kind of support he didn't get as a kid. The song doesn't have a happy ending, but many Megadeth fans found it very helpful in getting them through difficult times, since it can be comforting to know that others have been through it.

Dave cleverly called it that, but obviously it isn't if you listen to the lyrics!

@@vovindequasahi The intro of the song (instrumental) is dedicated to Cliif, the song and lirycs talks about Dave's relationship with a girl who had been his girlfriend, Maria i think

@@carlos73 Yeah that is what Dave claims. :) However think to yourself... If he truly wanted to make a song dedicated to Cliff, why wouldn't he just do that? I mean make a song wholly dedicated to Cliff?

Awesome song! Just the fact that Dave back then was clever enough to call this song about Cliff Burton's death - when the lyrics have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Cliff (it's a song about a broken relationship with a girl) - is hilarious. Even more hilarious is that people are still saying that it is. Great song it is though. This album is so underrated, mostly I think due to the poor production. Lots of great songs on here. Into the Lungs of Hell must be one of the most awesome instrumental openers of all time, and the transition into Set the World on Fire is marvelous with great riffage.
