the only thing live is the dancing, he's doing playback. But it's fun.

Nope. He sings over the backtrack. Of course, due to the dance moves, sometimes he doesn't sing and just focus on dancing. But you can clearly hear his voice and his breathing on the mic over the voice track playing behind. Using a vocal line for support is something that Pop artists use for decades. Is something that i personally think is better than just moving your mouth with the track.
