Wonderful reaction, man. In certain moments you looked possessed when your eyes were turned upwards. 😁👍👍🍻🥃 Descending is the crown jewel of Fear Inoculum, an absolutely stunning piece of music. This band has no equal.

...as a music producer, can you even imagine the level of work, time and dedication it would take to not only create and record this, but to finalize and master it? Second guessing every single note, every drum hit, yada...it took them 12+ years, and that seems an achievement, if one can actually hear how magnificent the final production is.

Ya know we’re living what Maynard is singing about. He’s written about it in all 3 of his bands. “The Doomed”, “TalkTalk”, and “Disillusion” with APC. Pretty much everything on Fear Inoculum, here, by Tool. And this line with Puscifer: “The pawns and powers that be play checkers, chess, and monopoly. For keeps. For life. For all. To the death. For our servility.” Maynard said in an interview that he doesn’t think a lotta people are gonna live beyond this. That he’s been preparing with his hands in the dirt since around ‘95.

This song sounds freaking amazing, through your gear, and even on my LG V20s speakers. I'm not sure I have heard it before. Tool came along as I was trying real f'ing hard to grow up and I avoided "studying" them as hard as I had others. I think I was studying Finance when these guys cracked the sky.

I guess I'm going to closed back headphone this one. Then I'll listen on 100 watt 2.2 system, with powered subs, that can't really compete with cans on panning effects and soundstage matters. I like the way you're integrating more music production angles into the confab. I know nothing about recording mixing etc..., but am interested and wonder lots of things you probably know. Keep touching on all of that, please sir. You do quality work here.

Beautiful track, again, they spent many, many years on this one album of tracks, since 10,000 Days in 2006, they heard all the fans and critics saying they lost their "Magick" and were taking so long because they "lost their way"...no, they just took that time and money they had made, their established place to create this slab of absolute sonic perfection; topping Lateralus was a very tall order, most bands/musical artists never even achieve Lateralus level production and composition; the studio perfection of this album will be studied for decades to come.
