The Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs is excellent. It’s urban fantasy. Michelle Sagara’s The Chronicles of Elantra is another series I really look forward and buy the moment it’s available. I am a little bit late to the party but Legends and Lattes is my favorite of the year so far. I luv me some cozy fantasy😁

That was fun - I subbed. I've been reading the longest book I've ever read in my whole life [excluding The Bible], The War with Hannibal by Titus Livy (English translation of the Latin). It's a history book, but I love it. I started in March 2023 but I only manage a few pages before I fall asleep at night. it's 711 pages and I want to finish it in 2023! Before that I read another history book: The Campaigns of Alexander by Arrian the Nicomedian (English translation of the Greek), and loved that too! I also read multiple books at once, plus I do a Sudoku puzzle before I read at bedtime! I'm also STILL reading my fave book of all time Salammbo by Gustave Flaubert - but in the original French language - I started reading it many years ago along with help of the French/Englich dictionary - so I hope to finish it in this lifetime! 🙂 P.S. I read physical books...

I haven’t read many books this year so far, but my favorites have been The First Law series, beginning with The Blade Itself, followed by Before They Are Hanged, and finally, Last Argument of Kings. It is a fantasy series. I am currently reading I am Half Sick of Shadows (part of the Flavia de Luce series) and Second Hand Souls, which is a follow up to It’s a Dirty Job (absurdist comedy). If you enjoy ridiculously funny books, give Christopher Moore a try.

This is the first video I have seen of yours, and I adore your reading journal spreads! I just subscribed. ❤ I was in the process of making one big reading journal for 2021-2023, but I have read so much in 2023 that I quickly ran out of room, so now I'm preparing to start over. I think I'll use your method of giving full page spreads to my 4 and 5 star reads for the year. Also, what website did you say you use to find stock images for your reading spreads? That sounds incredibly helpful and less annoying than dealing with Google Images which is what I'm currently doing... 😅

I usually do four images in a collage to make it stretch a bit further, unless I really want to feature a bigger image! It’s definitely not a perfect printer, sometimes colours come out a bit funky. A friend gave me a bunch of their old unused Sprocket paper packs too, which helps a lot!

Things like Midjourney learn from artist's art without their consent and is built off of stolen work :( I encourage you to do more research on this and artist/writer's attitudes toward AI stuff. Can you imagine if an AI learned from your videos to make their own journaling vids? That would be horrible!
@ErinSmith
Жыл бұрын
I totally understand your viewpoint - to be honest I have had living people download and repost my photos and videos as their own so it’s not just AI that steals. I think to generate and print a tiny photo of something very specific for personal use in my reading journal is not especially damaging, but I recognise the risks for artists on a larger scale are very real. I’ll keep supporting small businesses and artists first! Thank you for bringing this up! 🙏
