In the past few weeks I have: 1. Memorised A and D chord 2. About 35 chord changes on average 3. Been through the 'Dance the night away' song about 10 times. Think I'm ready to move on

I’ve been playing guitar for about 2 and a half years but I’m taking this course from the very beginning cause I taught myself And I am still very sloppy. So he said that I should take a couple weeks to complete the 30 chord changes and memorize my A and D chord and try to a song. I’ve already completed all of that in the first day cause I already knew how to do this so it’s kind of funny. I think one think Justin forgot to mention is that guitar is something that takes years to master. Even after you complete this course your probably not gonna be Jimi Hendrix. It takes years to get to that point. So don’t expect to be a god at guitar in the first few months. and take it slow. You don’t need to learn everything in one sitting. Play for five a minutes a day at least. Like he said you don’t need to play 6 hours a day at the beginning. Just take it slow is the best advise I can give you

Justin you're the man! you're insights and tips are the best on youtube in my mind. You're so upbeat and encouraging, too! It took me about 2 months to get through lesson 1, however with a number of disclaimers, including i'm easily board and get distracted by lessons taught by other youtube instructors. However, nonetheless, I think i'm back here for good and ready to move on. I've practiced at least 5 mins per day, 7 days a week. I'm up to about 45-50 changes per minute, depending on the day. I can also do over 30 changes from D to C and 30 changes from G to C in 60 seconds as well. At this point, I think its only fair that i actually pay for your online course, which is just a small payment towards my debt of gratitude.

Week 1, Day 3, using the app! I'm consistently getting 30-35 changes per minute now. I figure I'll keep doing this lesson next week, though, try to get these chords a bit cleaner before I move on. I'm a teacher myself (In Philosophy and Medical Ethics, not in Music!), and I really appreciate Justin's pedagogy as well as his style. He's just such a chill dude! 😎

I really appreciate the specifics in this advice - it gives me something measurable to go by. I also agree with the advice to move on if you’re getting stuck or bored. I learned it works in math. Often after working the first 2 sections of the next chapter I would go back and quickly figure out what I was stuck on.

I've been following Justin's lessons for about 3 weeks now and I've also been learning some songs through other tutorials, and so far I can now make 55-60 chord changes (A to D/D to A) in a minute 🥰 it's definitely so much less painful because I've grown some calluses and I think I'm ready to move on to lesson 2!

I am really happy with how I developed, I started playing about a day ago with these lessons and can do 32-35 changes from A-D and back, they also sound quite nice :D I also learned the first phrase of the Animal Crossing: City Folk Title Screen song, which I can really recommend to people who like this kind of music and are trying to learn their first kind of song. I love it and it's not really that difficult!
