The ability to speak without having an additional window on the screen adds to the realism. Most of the phraseology is spot on with a few slight delays in ATC’s response. SayIntentions looks very promising overall and is a huge improvement over in-game ATC.

Yeah, not once did I need to use the screen. Next video I’ll show the ATC window. I should have noted this on screen, but I will clarify most ATC transmissions had a delay. I left most at the beginning to allow for added transparency and folks the ability to see what the delay is like. But after editing the hour long video I started cutting them out 😂😂, I wanted to make the video both shorter and more enjoyable. The prices will be the biggest deterrent but I suspect certain folks will really find value and enjoy, and luckily there are free alternatives like VATSIM which come with its own pros and cons list.

@@theVRpilot The cost will be an issue for sure but they will still have customers. There are alternatives like Pilot Edge that use real controllers in certain areas for 20 dollars per month. S. I. is in its infancy. Hopefully with more users they can get their price down. Even better, Microsoft buys S.I. and integrates this technology into MSFS 2024. Realistic ATC would knock 2024 out of the park (along with a few other 2020 shortcomings).

It could be sone for the ATIS to be read by azure voices, But in most cases, like @theVRpilot said, its actually automated in real life... and the voices used are pretty close. But there is a board in the discord to ask for custom airport procedures... You might make a post there asking about making certain ATIS reports that you know are read by real people to be done with the azure voice.

Theres actually a reason for that. Since the AI has to translate everything we say, certain things are actually ignored by the AI becuase a lot pilots say them enough that they start almost slurring it, like their call sign.... basically, it makes it so you can speak as fast or as slow as you want, and it wont screw up.... But if it didnt ignore it and you said something like Cherokee339 real fast, the AI would quickly end up confused.

ICAO charges almost $20,000 USD for the same information, and it’s only valid if that country didn’t over ride the ICAO data… and it is only valid to be accessed a certain number of times (about 6 months worth on the small scale we currently are) before it has to be paid for again….
