Say Heah, I bought a Bokor Black Rold, It came out great. It's also a D2 and the Quality control on the workmanship is very good, The Tempering is also great, The edge retention on it is super and yet it was made in Asia. Infact I bought a 2 Blade Slipjoint Hunting Knife also made in Asia it too holds a decent edge, So as far as I know, Bokor makes sure their oversea products are made in a high standard. I feel even their 440a is done right because it holds a decent edge retention too.

Everyone that gets their hands on a really sharp knife walks around with the goofy bald patches on their arms :)

Got it love it and the sheath. I am also on a waiting list for the folding version. I only own one other folder and that's a Buck 110. Have you seen the folding version? It looks really nice.

I don't prefer a scandi grind, but when I use one I like to have a secondary bevel at the edge to keep it from rolling/chipping. My Mora is so scary sharp with a secondary bevel it wants to dig into wood, so I have to watch it. To me, a steel passes if I can field sharpen it and of course it holds an edge long enough, such as 1095. That is a great buy at $40.

You have it set up for cross draw.....left hand. If you have that set up for left hand carry you are carrying it on the left side. Doubt that unless you have it left side, handle at a 45 to the rear. It is a great knife, don’t get me wrong. Love mine. Put a secondary bevel and the D2 shouldn’t chip. At least not as bad. Wish the handle was about a half inch longer though.

Old Boker knifes where really great , usa,, if found will be a keeper. This knife is good for d2, not my choice in the past, maybe ill change my mind, can afford to give away if not liked. I just have hard time with China name on it, but once in awhile you have to try thinking quality has gotten better. I look for used knifes for super prices just to see if i like, if so can buy new, but $40. great price, maybe file China off blade. hahaha. thanksfor review, helps make up our minds bout things.

I have one and I am very impressed. Maybe not a $150 knife, but I'd put mine up against any $100 knife out there! Also, mine does not have "China" anywhere on the knife.

The Bushcraft is a nice model from Real Steal. But Boker/Böker has nothing to do with this knife. Real Steel and Boker are two different brands. The first from China and Boker from Germany..

Real Steel is the high end brand of Sanrenmu knives. Sanrenmu owns RealSteel. Check out their pocket knives, they have many dozens of good knives go choose from.

Just what is this knife? Boker is, and always was, a German company. Schrade and Boker have nothing at all to do with each other. You're confusing me.
@huejanus5505

According to another commenter, real steel is owned by sarenmu, another Chinese knife company. It's their higher end line of knives. The confusion starts when boker and schrade have their knives outsourced and are probably made by this company.
@sugartreeJ

Hue Janus that info is wrong. Real Steel and Sanremu are separate companies but use same steel in mfg. Real Steel is its own brand. Quality Chinese knife co. Boker has outsourced to them for years to produce there lower end knives.

Real D2 for forty bucks? I doubt it very much. If so, it's a horribly low grade. Or it's made in China, which means the steel is almost never what it's marked.
@Bushcraft412
8 жыл бұрын
yeah, the real steel line is made in China. I wouldn't say the steel is low grade. It holds an edge just as good as 1095, if not better. There may be people out there making better d2, but if you want the best, you have to pay the high prices. But for the price, this thing is better than the low end 1095 knives that I own (ex Schrade) that are in the same price range
