Breast Cancer is the most common of the Cancers affecting South African women. It is the most prevalent Cancer among white and Asian South Africans and the second most prevalent with black and coloured women. Early detection of breast cancer is touted as the biggest factor contributing to the difference between life and death: 90% of women diagnosed in the early stages go on to live for many years. Zoleka Mandela is prominent South African woman who has battled Cancer twice, and will join us to share her journey. Zoleka Mandela - Zoleka is the granddaughter of the late Nelson Mandela as well as a writer and activist. She has previously written about her battles with addiction, the death of her two children as well as her breast cancer battle, which she has beaten twice. Through the Zoleka Mandela Foundation she’s been feeding cancer patients attending chemotherapy at the Charlotte Maxeke Hospital, and often speaks out against reckless and drunk driving. Zoleka will be joined by her husband Thierry Bashala.
