This is a quick comparison of 3 portable folding and blanket solar panels on an actual caravan Lithium battery system to see how inexpensive folding panels stack up against a relatively expensive folding blanket type and if its worth the additional cost.
I did some followup testing after this video and discovered that the solar blanket actually pumps out about 10 amps when it completely cold. After its been out for about 30 mins it has dropped back considerably and more so than the folding panels.
So I can only put that down to heat as the blanket does not allow any airflow at the rear of the panel and in fact captures the heat. This seems to result in a significant degradation in output performance. The folding panels also degrade as they heat up and the SunYee panel starts up at approx 12 amps but the drop off is significantly less as I guess it can dissipate a lot more heat - further testing required.....
