That's mostly due to Blender's cloth physics engine being horrendously slow for some reason. Most other software could handle it no problem (unless your PC is truly horrendous).

@@demian5631I'm sure they'll turn to it. Eventually. It's typical for the blender foundation to just make a feature like 8 times faster outta nowhere.

@@extra_ram_noodles Agreed, though that day can't come soon enough. Still faster than soft-bodies though (those are admittedly harder to compute than cloth)

It's really handy with game objects too, like pillows, clothes and blankets over beds. You pretty much do all that over the bed and then take the frame you like from the animation tab and then topologize, unwrap it and export it.

Back in 2003, I did physics-based cloth simulation animation and it took WAAAY longer than that. To see this in real-time is insane.

It's cool, I just remember my first cloth having no stick. Slid off the bed I made it for like melted butter. Eventually got it to stay but between that and the deflated pillow it was a hilarious time.

You make it look so easy. When I tried doing it, it always phased through the cube until it reached the bottom face, at wich point it’d work perfectly. Or it’d stop one cube BELOW the cube itself, in mid air.

No you can't, if its not a pre-rendered cut scene. Than you can export thi as an animation. But game engines use real time physics engine. These are pre rendered physics.

Better ad the subdivision below the cloth, otherwise you can easipy add more cuts. Adding below means it doesnt need to be calculated but its less detailed
