"Lover" by Rogers and Hart, owned by Paramount from the 1932 film "Love Me Tonight". Hitchcock's dark humor on display by changing it to a minor key and lower register to accompany Thorwald taking his wife's body out of the apartment. In the original Jeannette McDonald sings it in a major key -- to a horse!

Something I’ve always wondered but never got an answer to: was the woman screaming and the glass (or whatever) breaking the point where Thorwald killed his wife? Where did that come from?

Yes from what I gather that’s thorwalds wife screaming and then when Jeffries falls back to sleep thorwald spends that time hacking up his wife in the bath tub and delivers the pieces all night all over town lol

I think that scream was Mrs. Thorwald suddenly roused from sleep as Mr. Thorwald started strangling or suffocating her. As that was happening, she probably knocked over a glass object as Thorwald gagged her.

I think the woman at 5:02 could be Mrs Thorwald, if she wasn't yet dead or maybe a mistress of Lars Thorwald. It is never explained, I don't think!

An ad every few minutes and skipping parts. Not a Full movie. A waste of time.
