Thank you! :-) I was actually half way through making another video when I "discovered" this, and was so impressed, it jumped to the top of the list ...

Easy canvas is a good alternative for Astro pad .mac has sidecar which is free but doesn’t work as good as Astro pad but you can get by.open canvas for pc is wireless but you have to use a cord for a Mac.i still think Astro pad is the best experience for wireless iPad use.if money is tight the other options can work good.

Got me excited for a second. I’m aiming to go full mobile and abandon MacOS. Guess we’re a few years away.

I was trying not to make the title too misleading. I would love a native iPad version, but the AstroPad solution is surprisingly useful, in limited circumstances

@@BasementPicasso It’s okay, it wasn’t misleading. I was just hoping. I have a Huion Kamvas pen display. So I have a good MacOS set up. But I like the idea of downsizing.

Darn, this is exactly what I was looking for, but not necessarily at $100 (AUD$145 for me, ouch) a year. I just recently purchased a Kamvas tablet and a bunch of helper hardware, so I could use desktop software instead of just Procreate on my iPad, but I still prefer sitting in my lounge chair in front of a warm fire, rather than in an uncomfortable office chair in my cold office. If I’d realised I could have used Astropad originally, I could have skipped the Kamvas expense. Wish Astropad was a one-off purchase. Thanks for the video, at least you’ve opened up some new possibilities for me. Quick question though, I may have missed in the video. Full pressure sensitivity from the Apple Pencil works?
@BasementPicasso

Hi. Yes, pressure, angle and tilt are all supported. I did look long and hard at the Kamvas studio. How are you finding it? Is it beefy enough to run Rebelle ok?

Hello, just watched this and I’m very intrigued. I live on my iPad and have been wondering when Rebelle would come out in IPad. It’s been a few months since you posted this video, are you still using AstroPad? Learn anything new? Thank you for posting this!

No problem. Actually I have recently swapped over to a Samsung Tab S9 Ultra, and I am looking for an equivalent of AstroPad for Android! But while I was using it, I found it very useful if you wanted to sit somewhere away from the computer and still do a bit of Rebelle work. It really did work extremely smoothly for me, although I do have very good WiFi routers which may make a difference. It is a little bit of a pain having to turn on the computer, load rebelle & then load a workspace sized to the AstroPad screen, but after that it really is very good. Hope that helps!

@@BasementPicassoplease post a video of you filming the ipad screen directly. Ive tried astropad through out the years, and it was too laggy for me, and i have a wifi 6 router. Futhermore, astropad(mac version) bypasses the router directly, so if you have a macbook please do us a video of that! I dont have acess to a macbook rn so i cant try that

@@brushrunner some good questions, but unfortunately, I have sold the iPad and switched to Android - Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. So, I can't do any more testing for you 😞Some people did report issues - I can only say that my experience was seamless and responsive.

What iPad app currently simulates rebelle or corel painter the most? I was thinking realistic paint studio, art set 4, or infinite painter
@BasementPicasso

Because I have moved over to Android I now use Infinite Painter. It doesn't do thick paint but does deal with canvas texture quite nicely. On the iPad Realistic Paint has some of the best dry media effects. Art Set has a really nice palette knife tool. Obviously none are as sophisticated as Rebelle though. I had all of them oniPad so would switch between them as needed but Art Set was very good for more traditional painting. Hope that helps

At 3:10, what is the text that starts showing up in your brush strokes?
@BasementPicasso
Жыл бұрын
Its custom brushes that I make that have text in the texture within them. Adds variety to them. There are a couple of custom brushes at www.basement-picasso.com/galleries/rebelle-brushes/

I just downloaded AstroPad and tried to use it with Rebelle. For me it was just terrible! I have good wifi so I'm not sure why - but the lag was really bad. Just cancelled subscription

i've been trying astropad ever since the beginning when the pc app was called bluesomething. And every year the lag is still there unfortunately. Theres some hope left for me that i havent tested, mac m1/m2 plugged in to ipad pro 2018+ theres some new tech that circumvents some processes but its only mac to ios dont want to call u an old timer picasso, but the video theres like a 1 second lag at least
