To be honest, it depends more over on how you see them. And I don't mean you specifically, but I mean anyone. Personally for me, I would see a homeless addict in streets the same way I see Demi, which is someone who is in need of help. But, not everyone will see it in that perspective because the homeless person is homeless, which puts them down on the list in our society, whereas a celebrity will make it in the news because they're a celebrity.

It pisses me off so much how damn judged she's been for all of her struggles. She's human, and she's been through a lot. People can't see past the fame or the money; they have no empathy, and they don't see the person. Demi's problem is simple. She refuses to do what she's told by the people in rehab. When you act like that, you will relapse over and over, overdose, and never maintain sobriety. Probably it is hard to that when the people around her enable her all the time. But it is not their fault, she has to want it bad enough that she will do what they tell her in program. Consequently, she looks to people who don't understand how sobriety works.

I do agree that sometimes fans and people on social media have taken things too far at times. However, the side of the story that didn't get told was Dani going on her Instagram 2 days after Demi's overdose and promoting a dance class she was going to hold, using Demi's song to get people to attend it. To me, yet another example of people around her using her for what she can do for them rather than actually having her best interest at heart.

“How much heartbreak can you have at 16?!” Stuff like this bothers me so much. Adults truly believe you have nothing to stress over or be sad about because you’re young. Age doesn’t mean a thing when it comes to pain. And it’s not a competition on who’s been through more pain than the next. What I’m going through may be the worst thing IVE ever experienced because it’s ME. When adults say stuff like that or, “you have nothing to be stressed about, I have to pay bi-“ it just makes me so upset and leads me to just keep everything to myself until I have a mental breakdown.
@gabrielam.3598
3 жыл бұрын
And people dont seem to get that what now can sound shallow to you, for a teen, it's their first time going through that, their mentality is different, they have different mechanisms to deal with things. You cant judge yourself or anyone for something from the past using the mentality you have now.
@victoriarose8158
3 жыл бұрын
exactly! and pain is relative too! like someone who has been through a lot may take something a lot better than someone who has had a decent life up until something bad happens and they totally breakdown because they have never experienced something like that before. Everyone feels pain differently and it isn’t fair to discredit someone and their experiences because you dealt with it better than they did. I wish adults understood this.

it's weird to see how much love Demi gets for her overdose and relapses but when Britney Spears had mental breakdown and lost her kids just 10 years before EVERYONE laughed at her calling her all the kind of names and treating her like a clown with stupid jokes and 13 years later Britney is not allowed to do anything without people's permission while Demi has all the control/freedom she wants. People should watch FRAMING BRITNEY SPEARS as well. #FreeBritney - reason for commenting on this is because Britney's basic rights are till this day taken away from her and it's like no one gives a f. just because she shaved her head.

you answered it yourself, it was more than TEN YEARS AGO. People are still pretty nasty to MH and addictions, they were downright horrible back in 2008. Seriously, what's the deal with trying to put someone down to lift another person up? You're doing the exact opppsite of helping Britney.
@harlightspodcast4585

I think it is because it was a different era before there was not this big talk on mental health also during Britney it was a different generation. I was very young when everything was going on with Britney so it could also be that too people were young and also not aware of this going on. But in watching Framing Britney Spears she was treated horribly the list goes on. This is talked about on a Spotify podcast called Harlights; open.spotify.com/show/0W1R7yuBWNtdDqaiQ6L3zW (listen where podcast are available.)

Dude that was 14 years ago. It was a different era but even still many people were cruel to Demi during her overdose. Also what happened to Britney had mostly to do with mental illness & abuse, which people are still misinformed and unsympathetic towards. Drugs are often easier to explain and understand.
