-Shedding some light on the meaning of 'sati', which is usually translated as 'mindfulness', and why it is NOT a form of "focusing" practice. Thus 'mindfulness' is actually quite an unfortunate term when it comes to conveying the meaning of 'sati'. '
-'Sati' in its core is always a form of knowledge, and knowledge is not something you can attend to as the object of your senses, but something you can RECOLLECT (once developed) on the level of your mind. It's of little surprise then that the Buddha said if 'sati' is developed to the necessary extent it will result in full UNDERSTANDING of the nature of dukkha.
