Reconnaissance Expedition Stalingrad Battlefield Tour with Pierre Malinowski for the upcoming project in the spring 2021
In April-May 2021, a new major project will emerge to pay tribute to the sacrifice of Red Army soldiers during the German invasion of 1941. The Foundation for the Development of Russian-French Historical Initiatives will organize a project of unprecedented scope in Archeology and in the Media on the theme of the Battle of Stalingrad.
In addition, this project will take place during a crucial month for Franco-Russian relations - the funeral of General Gudin at the Invalides on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Napoleon's death.
About twenty of the best French experts from CNRS and INRAP (French Archeology) as well as several German archaeologists from VOLKSBUND (Memory of soldiers) will pay homage to the Soviet soldiers who fell in Stalingrad in 1942 and 1943. This battle, the largest in history, was the tomb of more than a million Soviet soldiers who sacrificed themselves for freedom against the Nazi invader.
This project will be carried out with the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, the RVIO and the research groups of the Great Patriotic War.
