Hello, I was wondering if you any tips you had about starting your practice- folk magic? Hope you are having a good day.

@@SomeSpiderMan hey! This channel has some good tips to start out, also the podcast The Red Text has a lot of info! I'd recommend starting out with a saint your family has prayed to or that you feel drawn to. Mother Mary is very loving and kind, you can't go wrong with her. Honestly it's not an easy path, especially if you have been a fundamental or have been raised in a fundamental christian/catholic home, since it's hard to pull out everything that humans in power invented about God, and you'll forever have to exist in the liminality of being a christian but having most christians disagreeing with you or condemn you. But it's worth it if that's the path that calls you! For reclaiming your power as you start out, you could do some holy water (the prayers used by the church are online, you can change some words if you feel uncomfortable saying them, I always skip the "sinner" word, for example) and start making the sign of the cross with holy water every day, just for general protecting and blessing. You can do so much and once you start doing something, a whole world opens up to you lol. The beauty of folk practice is that you use whatever you have available, you don't need fancy tools, or learning complicated rituals, and you get to define what spirituality is for you and reclaim the faith that has been polluted by power and greed. Sorry for the long comment, hope that helps ❤️ I'm more than happy to help out if you need it.

I’m so glad I watched this because I too can relate with how you feel, and thank you so much for sharing that little message. I’ve always been feeling like the world is against me and letting other people’s thoughts get to me, and I know I shouldn’t but now I’m starting to reflect on my past and I’m beginning to let go of things and become someone new, the person that I want to be not what others tell me, I absolutely terrified of change especially now because I’m about to go to a new environment. I too am also trying to reconnect with Zeus even though he’s always been with me I don’t really feel him there anymore, I also asked Zeus to show me something to help me like some advice and this video popped up.

I've also felt distant from my patron Goddess Hekate and my practice in general lately, but this week I had a sudden kick in the butt to reconnect. Wednesday I went outside to sweep the doorway and salt under the doormat, and there were 3 deer just hanging around in the backyard. It didn't dawn on me until yesterday that it was probably Hekate (having associations with the number 3 and deer) showing up. I was like, "Oh sh*t, was that you?" 😂

Interesting re:vervain-- I am currently in the midst of researching my local plants and their associations and according to the book I'm reading (Northeast Medicinal Plants by Liz Neves) "the name vervain or verbena comes from Latin, meaning 'sacred bough' or 'altar plant' " so it makes perfect sense to me that Diana/your intuition called out to you to use it in a devotional oil! Thank you for another wonderful video! Just finally ordered your book and am very much looking forward to its arrival!

This video has inspired me to reconnect with Odin and Artemis! Artemis and I have been really close for a long time but I want to deepen that connection. When it comes to Odin though, I feel like I could be closer to him but I haven't been really pushing for a closer bond with him but I really want to work on it. I've never really felt pulled to any one particular pantheon, hence why my god and goddess are from two different ones, but personally, I feel like that's kinda how I was meant to practice. The Greek and Norse paths have always been the two most important in my life and practice as a witch and as a pagan.

so for a long time ive always found this interested. I as someone who believes in god, (not really a Christian just believe in the existence of god) I've always questioned of other gods really exist. or if its just people experiencing there god is still a form of connecting to a greater whole. Recently, i broke a friendship with a very toxic person. and it made me realize my relationship with god himself is incredibly painful and toxic. I'm either looking for a new god these days or at least a different outlook on the Christian one. This has been mind blowing for me since i've obviously grown up around this concept my whole life. but now i feel like its time to change.

I differentiate between the "Christian" god (universal light and dark) and then our earthly patrons (Freya, Odin, Artemis, Diana, Lakshmi, Zeus, Jesus ect) - another thing I'm very aware of is that there's a difference between how the church portrait a god and how you experience that god

So lemon balm is a great medicinal herb, but it is also part of the mint family. Unfortunately that means it is super invasive and will choke out all other plants in a garden. I can personally justify having it in anything other than containers. Just an fyi if you are trying to encourage native species in your area.

I find it interesting, how witchcraft differs from paganism. Im a Hellenic pagan and I find MASSIVE theological distinctions between witches and pagans. I’m also an undergraduate majoring in religious studies so I usually know what I’m talking about. find sometimes I get a little upset how needlessly complicated some witches make praying to gods. Like, they aren’t some demons, they are divine consciousness that preside over specific functions of the universe. Connecting with the gods just comes down to your ability to consistently offer and be around their domain. I find it a little funny how people will live on the beach for years and after getting into witchcraft, or “neo paganism” and be like “I was always called to Poseidon.” Like 😂 no crap really? You live next to the ocean and you noticed Poseidon, how crazy 🤯!? Cynicism aside, I’m glad you have the chance to connect to such a lovely divinity. Maybe Diana bless you! I love you channel and I look forward to future content!

It's interesting that you ran out of everclear for your tincture. I have heard specifically to not use everclear, and use 100 proof vodka instead so there is exactly 50% water and 50% alcohol in the tincture, for safety and so there isnt a need to dilute the batch before use. Also lovely video, i wonder what exactly the 'weed' plant is, it reminded me of prickly lettuce (which it probably isnt).

I really like this video. The first part, I really connected with that bc I go through that a lot as well. It seems like ppl are falling away the older I get. Family especially. Some times I wonder if thats good, bad, or just something that is meant to happen. Ive never had a lot of friends, I like being by myself. I have a very small circle. I dontmind socializing with ppl if I'm in the environment to do so and I do present myself with those opportunities, but my husband is a huge introvert and I'm kind of an in between. I don't mind ppl, but I def have a limit. Like, some days I could talk to someone literally all day and have energy like crazy, then the next day my battery is completely drained.

It's very interesting to see your process of reconnecting with the goddess, and to be honest, I admire you sharing this, because in one way or another, it encourages me in a way. Recently, I discovered Diana in my life, as my patron goddess, or just as the goddess present in my life, however, it is good to see other people who are devoted to the goddess sharing their experiences, since most people syncretize the goddess and to me It's hard for to say where Diana starts and Artemis ends. If it's not too much to ask, could you give me some references, sources or studies about Diana!? Here in my country, Brazil, we don't have much information available, and I'm looking for sources in English. Again, sorry if this bothers you. I love your content and hope to see more of your videos and buy your book soon.
