Why the f**k does this dude not have 1mil subs. This is absolutely insane. I know how much it hurts to fail. But keep doing what your doing! You will get it! Know that you are doing amazing things. This I probably one of the most ambitious and complex model Coker projects out there. No sweat to bps space, but this is just another level. Keep dreaming and reaching for the stars!!

Mr. Shang, you are the #1. Your technique seems to be from another planet. You are doing a fantastic job! Failure happens in rocketry. But these are the fuel to go ahead ! We wanna see the next launch!

Maybe the grid fins are too fine on the rocket. Maybe adding less lattice on them may help. hope you get it on the next time! (i hear grid fins don't really scale down too well)

Probably just the center of mass to high and not enough drag on the top
@АнтонБуланча

@@mmb3006 These engines just worked too late, maybe there was wrong code. They had to stabileze the rocket, and there is also everything ok with the center of mass, because it lauched succefully
@alidurrani4645
3 жыл бұрын
@@АнтонБуланча exactly my point, the center of mass wasn't the problem, the computer didn't pick up the altitude properly. had the altitude been picked up correctly, and the second charge went on on the perfect timing it would at least have decellerated to the point where the rocket wouldn't have shattered at least. but bro these are solid fueled rockets, the problem, the problem with solid fueled rockets is you don't have any control over thrust, and in order to land, the rocket needs control over its thrust. even if the rocket had ignited the landing charge perfectly it still wouldn't end in a perfect landing. for perfect landing you need a liquid fueled engine where you can control the flowrates of the oxidizer/fuel in order to vary the thrust and just provide the perfect amount to decellerate the body to v=0 as soon as it touches the ground
@АнтонБуланча

@@alidurrani4645 Your theory has sense. I'm sure the rocket was using the barometers to measure the altitude. He probably didin't made correction, so they measured altitude from the sea level.
@tamurhaq

@@alidurrani4645 he has thrust vector control on this solid rocket motor. Check out his other videos, he spent some time doing that. What he’s missing, and is found commonly on bigger rockets is an RCS - Reaction Control System. Bursts of gas or exhaust at the top to micro adjust the attitude and avoid a complete catastrophe like one in the video. TVC won’t save you past a certain tipping point. I do agree that the onboard computer lagged in detecting measurements from the IMU. Here the secondary DPS - Descent Propulsion System is only designed to slow the descent and not correct the pitch, roll and yaw. I’m amazed at how far he’s gotten in this project. The amount of engineering in this one little rocket is extraordinary for one person to achieve. I felt the pain when it slammed into the ground.

Hey! I advise you to test the blocks separately, on a test rocket. the problem of the center of mass is not the most complete one. maybe you shouldn't fight it, but just turn the return unit 180 degrees? Good luck !

@L Shang : Was this caused by too much drag on the landing gear ? In any case the Development that went into this still is amazing, and I'm sure that if you deploy larger guide-fins at an earlier stage, you could have had a successful ending to this flight as well. Elon Musk is good, but he has TONS of cash to burn, hundreds of people working on this day and night, so just having built a prototype recoverable rocket to even shot this straight up tells me you are a smart person and you will succeed if you keep trying !!! Loved this video too, and I'm a subscriber 😉
