This is all very nice but way back in the late 70's I used to sell Pioneer at a place called Tech HiFi. Pioneer made the weakest sounding receivers in the entire inventory (compared with Sansui, Nikko, Onkyo, Kenwood, etc.). Do your self two favors: 1. Use a different vintage receiver like an Onkyo (one of the best) and 2. Like the other commenter said, don't put a turntable anywhere near or on you speakers (sheesh!). Ps. Recilinear 5 speakers were awesome, the absolute best in our entire inventory. Large Advents were a close second.

What's the best way to get the grills off? I'm afraid to break mine!

They are velcro. It was never taken off and it was so sticky. Just slowly remove them.

The turntable is picking up way too much vibration from the speakers. The woofers should NOT be pumping in and out like that for that music.

Sounds very nice but those are not the original woofers.....I have the original woofers in mine and yours sound better

Have you replaced the caps in the cross overs? That will tighten the bass up considerably.

There are variations of woofers use. I'm the second owner and the grills have not come off until I got them.

I had a pair that I purchased right after grad school in 1974. Loved those speakers. Later did replace the capacitors with better ones.
