Really enjoying this. I’ve been playing Jazz guitar for a few years but find myself increasingly drawn to nylon string. I started working on recuerdos from sheet music about 4 weeks ago, this could not have been timed better.

Sorry about the giant comment below... Again, hats off to you for putting yourself out there like this. I watched Gohar Ardanyan talk about this song and techniques and challenges that it involves. It might be all basic stuff to you (you are a world class player after all) but oftentimes if someone presents something I thought I knew well from a different angle, it can be very helpful to me. She talks a lot about the importance of hearing the quadruplets together, not bass separated by the three legato notes. She also talks about having nice sounding legato notes where they almost blend into each other. She says she's heard the advice of practicing tremolo staccato but that she's never done it because it sort of goes against the final goal. She advises practicing different finger combinations when playing tremolo. Because she says it trains finger independence. Etc... It's a really good video. What I thought I noticed this time is at one point you pushed the major section a bit too much. Then when you did a rubato and pulled back, it was still moving fairly quickly. Myself, I have this thing I call "two minutes practice". It has various purposes but one of them is to simply have a micro practice. So if I notice I stumbled over a note or a few, I take that part and repeat for two minutes. Which can be as short as a single bar or a few and sometimes I subdivide that into several nano practices. Two minutes then I move on. And so on... that's what I've been doing these days. This thing is so beautiful musically but it's relentless to play. There's absolutely no space to take a breath, it's constantly on the move. And you're right, it's that last ten percent that takes the longest time by far to nail down.

Just to add a thought about quadruplets together reference. I think my idea is to not think of it as a together 1234 but rather a separate feel from accompaniment vs melody will allow for a freeier rubato playing. I try to think of it as two separate players finding a good pocket playing together.
