I made a modification, I use a 551 watt battery, I got 35v and 15 amps, now I'm working on another transformer.

Thanks Elecifun. This is good information. I don't have one of these boards but I appreciate your efforts bringing this stuff up to snuff.

Did you figure out why the over current indicator led is on with no output load?

@robertalabla Hi Razzle Dazzle.. Yes, the LT081 was faulty so with a quick swap out for genuine it works as it should.

PS. I swapped all three LT081's for genuine to give the best chance of long term success.

I built this power supply and it was working but suddenly it stopped working. What could have caused this problem?

@faristabakovic147 stopped working? no power anything? have you tried replacing the LT081's with genuine?

@@Elecifun I measured the voltage on the board and it is 30v, but there is no voltage at the output from the board.

@@faristabakovic147 Swap out the op-amps and double check the big shunt resistor is OK, and the power transistor. Should fix it. Pretty much all the supplied op amps are fakes. Or use UA741's instead. Both are fine. Always use sockets on the op amps. Saves a lot of hassle.

Also check your -5V supply. R2 (82ohm) gets very hot and can fail. If it does, the board won't work. Replace it with a 1/2 watt or two 160ohm 1/4 w in parallel. You actually should replace it anyway.

6:37 😮 30V How much current? 🤔
@Elecifun

@decem_unosquattro9538 up to a max of 3 Amps with a 3 amp transformer. The pass transistors in the kit can only dissipate a 25C 90 watts.

@@Elecifun oh wow that's interesting! 🤔 So basically your saying this can put out its rated voltage and current. That's a very interesting a good result compadre. 👍🏻
@Elecifun

@decem_unosquattro9538 In an ideal setup, yes. In reality not quite. Much of getting the maximum will depend on components used. Remembering the main output (pass) transistor can only dissipate 90 watts at 25C. The transistor will get hotter than 25C and then it de-rates not giving the max output. The load regulation on the transformer can effect the max output. As the load increases the transformer can drop in output voltage which in turn means the voltage going in is not 24vac, again this effects the output max wattage.

@@Elecifun OK. Thats most interesting.🤔 I guess that's why that dude attached a massive heat sink to the big transistor. To dispute the intense heat that's generated. 🔥
