Guarma is very important to the story, and I see the whole thing as a kind of sudden nightmare that really reveals Dutch to Arthur (besides, it's when Arthur is left alone with all of the "villains" from the RDR series). In this moment we, as players, are just so tired of everything in Guarma. This is a moment of wondering and reflection, and also a moment of resting. This is when we become Arthur, we feel his exhaustion, we feel his pain, we wonder and we cry along. What a trick to put us inside the skin of the character. I believe maybe no other piece of art has taken this to such a level.

My girl and I played RDR2 together all the way. Once I got to a certain point, I’d stop and wait for her to catch up, and vice versa. She actually got here before I did because I told her I really didn’t care if she beats it without me. But she COMPLETELY stopped right here before I even got to the island. I got home one day, and she told me to get through the island as quick as possible and to not speak a word once I get back. I was left in 100% shock. This scene was absolutely beautiful. This whole game was, and will be, game of the year for 2018 in my heart. And this scene made me feel a certain way that I haven’t felt in years. It gave me a sense of hope. A sense of better days ahead, and a sense of “No matter what life throws at you, you get your ass up and finish what you said you would.” Rockstar became my favorite gaming company after I beat this game. You know when you’re watching a movie, Tv show, playing a video game, etc., and after spending so long invested in it, you can just FEEL the exact moment when you’re hooked into it and become immersed in the world of whatever medium it is? THIS MOMENT. This is my immersion moment. Nothing mattered more to me than getting my ass back to camp and finding my crew. My friends. My family. When I got there and found Pinkertons snooping around, I didn’t hesitate to kill all of them. And for those who are gonna say “you’re a monster for killing those guys/you’re exactly the bad guy they’re paid to bring to justice”, if you went through the same shit Arthur and the gang did, I’m sure YOU’D go on a killing spree in the name of those you love. God of War is a DAMN good game. Santa Monica deserve all the praise and everything, but THIS is a GOTY right here. Call me a fanboy, but it’s my opinion that RDR2 should have won.

When reaching shady belle, Arthur comes across some detectives investigating, led by someone called Mr. Johns. There's a high probability that this is Nate Johns, the governor wanting to reduce crime in 1911 and the boss of Edgar Ross, making the whole red dead story a lot more tragic.

This game really messed with me emotionally, something no other game has ever done. I had played through it as I do every normal game, caring little for the karma meter early on, but then things started feeling more weighted, as Arthur felt guilt for all he's done and wants to be a better man, which also made me feel guilty as well. But the thing was that I legitimately could not stop. I did bad things for the sake of it and I felt guilty. Every mission filled me with dread when the characters talk about if there is still time to be more than outlaws and being better people. I came back from Guarma and it was pouring rain and lightning was striking around, as if the game knew what it was that I've been doing and is reminding that there isn't time left to fix things, as Arthur was dying and everything felt bleak. I ended up finishing the game with a low honor and seeing all the rain and lightning as Arthur dies a death I caused him to have just hurts me a lot cause I never felt like I could fix it. (not in a way that is bad for the game, more of bad for me and my personality) When I started playing again as John, things changed. I did everything I could to be a better person, and I felt infinitely better doing that. Overall, this game changed me and I feel it is one of the greatest I've ever played solely for that.

This scene broke my heart in two ways : first was when I got ashore and tried to call for my dear horse, call to which I only got a written answer "Your horse is lost". The second was during the whole trip, which was under heavy rain, while sprinting on a horse I had found around. The feeling of riding back home under the rain, knowing the band could not have possibly stayed there and still desperately hoping they would be here safe and sound, is something I have really rarely felt in a videogame. This is one of the most unique feelings amongst the whole variety of intense emotions this game puts us through.

Unfortunately there is no other way to explain the end of the gang, so only three left Javier Scuila , Bill Williamson , Dutch in RDR 1, besides, Rockstar seem doesn’t like to give characters lots of sequels, so witness the end of Arthur and the others, I believe if there’s a RDR 3 ir will be completely different in characters, or might Give Landon Ricketts a shot, who’s the real legend of the west, I wish for that to happen.
