kiedis understands the fundamental rule that good musicians all understand, and that rule is "success is not how many albums you sell".

Have you heard him on Joe Rogan recently
@Julia-nl3gq
3 ай бұрын
Not really true. I mean, sure, you can be talented and not sell many albums (or books, or paintings, or whatever), but, at the same time, if you can't make a living at your art, you can't pursue it very well, because you then have to have some other job to pay the rent, so that's hardly success when you can't even pursue your art. Plus, a lot of completely un-talented people use the whole ''it's not how many albums you sell'' thing as an excuse to explain away their lack of talent.

*So many* of the early interviewers are patronizing. I don't think they even realize how deftly Anthony handles it. I hate it when they do that to him, but I am always so impressed how he just casually claps back so eloquently that they rarely realize what he did.

im not sure it made me feel really bad because for every good thing that happened in his life he payed for it by getting really fucked up by drugs and it got worse and worse to the point at which it was difficult to read. at the end of the book he asks the reader to never do drugs because he already suffered for them. if any thing it made me feel opposite. like i am very grateful that i am living my live the way i am opposed to his, and im sure that's what was intended.
