In this video, you'll take a ride on Todos Santos' light rail Red Line, which traverses from the dense downtown (the "Milla de Plata") area all the way to Todos Santos International Airport on the eastern fringes of the metropolitan area.

-- MORE INFO --
The Red Line, known for its gratuitous number of level crossings, was built in three stages in the early 2000s. Stage 1 was a streetcar from Central Station to the airport; stage 2 added a route along former alleyways in Santa Turista and Condudo, terminating at the Municipal Building; and stage 3 brought the line to the stadium and riverside districts.
-- ABOUT THE STATIONS --
Tierra del Puerto: This subterranean station and the connected track was built in the median of Avenida Ribereña durings the road's construction. The city hoped the mixed-use infrastructure would revitalize the riverside district and nearby Tierra del Puerto, and it has been a mild success.
Deportivo North and South: The decision was made to build two light rail stations flanking the stadium in the hope it would more or less evenly divide traffic during the post-event rush. Ironically, the stations have been evenly used by day-to-day commuters, but most post-match straphangers favor South for reasons unknown. North also accesses the nearby Parque Ribereño while South is attached to the Blue Line Stadium metro station and the Milla de Plata bus hub.
Laguna Azul: This station is well known for its long switchback pedestrian ramp that allows passengers to easily overcome the 30ft/10m change in elevation to the nearby barrio of Laguna Azul.
La Hacienda: This station accesses the Todos Santos Municipal Building. One passenger noted that it's the "coolest place" on the line because it's almost always in the shadow of the massive tower complex.
Central: Though quite far from both the Old Town and Downtown of Todos Santos, this open-air station nonetheless serves as the heart of its transit network. Purposely overbuilt for its grand opening in 1966, it originally served a single intercity line. Today, it serves 3 of the city's 4 urban rail lines, two suburban lines, the Metrobús and standard bus routes. It has a massive park and ride lot, often used by locals commuting to the southern parts of town.
Parque Ferroviario: Named for the nearby park frequented by trainspotters from all over, this station sits in the median of Avenida Central and was the first stop built in the original streetcar line. It is noted as the favorite station of film star Ewan McGregor, a frequent visitor to the city.
Los Llanos: Though the least-used station on the Red Line, Los Llanos is noted for its easy access to Pueblo store #42. Its name is derived from the small grassland that once covered the peninsula now occupied by the airport.
Aeropuerto: The Red Line terminates at the Airport commuter hub, and is the only urban rail line serving the airport (at least until the proposed Green Line extension is completed). Transfers are available to intercity rail, express bus and finally the airport monorail for access to Terminal 2.

-- ABOUT THE SERIES --
On the north shores of this tropical island sprawls the metropolis of Todos Santos. In this series, I attempt to build a Latin American city that roams from the Old World casco viejo to the car-centric urbanism of the New World, primarily drawing inspiration from San Juan, Puerto Rico. I hope you’ll join me on this high-detail exploration of all the things that make us love cities.
