Nice shots. The slide along the roadside bollards came up great for a walking gimbal. Cheers for the video.

Thanks so much! I'll upload some better footage with the Raptor on the gimbal in the future. These shots were only to demonstrate that it functions well enough for practical use.

great work on this setup and thank you for sharing man. I'm also contemplating the RS2 for my V-Raptor and your video just really helps to get a good initial idea of what such a setup would look like. I'd l love to see more of your setup, although I fully understand that making these types of videos is a lot of work. Thank you for creating and sharing this Jeremy.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm still working out the best way myself. I'm in Iceland right now flying it in harsh conditions and it's very difficult to keep it stable while walking...has that gimbal jitter. So it's going to be an evolving build but I think it is a good place to start. If you have the money I'd still go for a Movi Pro or Ronin 2 or something, but if you're trying to do it on the cheaper end it's manageable with this setup.

@@jeremylevy7801 I also have those jitters when walking on my RS2 and Epic MX/Scarlet MX setup with laowa 12mm zero d cine (800g lens). Total setup weight ranges from 3300g and up to 4250g, but I have seen same problems with lighter setups likea C70 with a Canon lens etc

Really nice and clear video! Does the autofocus work well with the sigma 18-35? Excited to see more of your work with this!

I have not put the 18-35 on the Raptor as I don't like cropping in on the sensor for APS-C glass. I'll get around to doing some 6K tests with it using autofocus when I'm back in the states (traveling right now in Iceland). And thanks for the kind words!

@@jeremylevy7801 ah it looked like the 18-35, but it’s the 24mm art right? That does great af? And lovely! Enjoy your trip! 😉

@@BertMonteyne Yep, 24mm art! Perfect size for balancing on the RS2. The autofocus has been hit and miss for me, but I think that's mainly with the RED rather than the lens performance. Thanks so much!

scrolled through the whole video but couldn't find any shot showing the clearance at the back with the Digi power cable plugged in. I've got the cheaper camvate and it's not leaving me with much room unless I use counterweights to move the camera forward. I tried with the photo version of Tokina 11-20 EF which is slighly lighter than your sigma I believe

Yeah sorry man I didn't get that shot, definitely should've though my bad. Mine obviously clears but only because the Sigma 24mm art lens I'm using allows the proper weight distribution for it. I'm traveling today but I can send you a pic within a few days if you want to see the clearance.

@@jeremylevy7801 thanks mate, no need for a picture. Looking at pictures side by side of the camvate and the Ignite cables, I can tell that the Ignite is much more compact. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and sell my kidney for that cable.. :)

@@GuillaumeCornetfilms Ha! Yeah dude that cable costs so much but it is very well made. I'd order it now because they're based in Tasmania. You might also want to pick up a D-Tap male to female extender. The ignitedigi cable didn't reach for me but it works with the extender.

@@jeremylevy7801 yea I’ve got the Komodo one and like it. $240 just seems excessive. I though seing that they have different length option now too

@@GuillaumeCornetfilms It definitely is a bit excessive but they're a smaller company so I brushed it off. I did not see the different length options when ordering. Fuck. Lol good luck! If you're on the DSMC3 FB group share a pic or something when you've gotten your setup worked out.

Now that the DJI Ronin 4D is coming to the market, have you considered it something that makes this almost obsolete?
@jeremylevy7801
2 жыл бұрын
Almost yeah, I was very close to buying the Ronin 4D instead of the Raptor because the image quality is great and the convenience is awesome. However, the Ronin 4D can't really do standard handheld without drawbacks...and I didn't want to be limited to the lens mount they have on there. So for me the Ronin 4D is a specialty camera...I'll probably pick one up within a year or two when I have the finances for it.
