MY REDBONE DOES THE SAME EXACT THING!😂😂😂 Whenever I command “down” she goes to like a 3/4 crouch where I have to give her a second “dooown” and point to the ground to commit all the way, like she’s trying to get off easy!! Hilarious to see another redbone being a stubborn genius!❤❤

We have one mixed with a boxer, and she is a living doll, so smart and loving, about 3 years old.

Well done. Still trying to get my pup to walk "with me" but she gets distracted so easily. Good training with some smart doggos!

She's only working with the coonhound. Typically you'd do training separately from other dogs.

Yeah that's correct they have to understand what is happening and, just because a dog is trying to get a treat by doing what is asked from the other dog is basically failing them and they will try to be a leader, they should know to sit and wait their turn.

I have a 1.5 year old redbone. 6 generations of winners........ and then..... you have my Leon. Stubborn, bites when being playful, but really painful, goes backwards on his house training. We love him, but dang, he is a handful. Took him for private lessons, didn't work.

I have the same problem with my dog. I think he is some mix of coonhound but the same temper as yours.. He is very stubborn and bites all the time while playing, it hurts a lot, we can't stop him from biting... I don't know what to do. We have an older golder retriver also and he bites her to play. Also, very dominant, he does not want for the other dog to get attention, we can barely pet her. He is not agresive, but is pain in the ass 🙂

He pulled what my dog pulls when I ask him to speak sometimes, near the end. LOL. I LOVE HOUNDS, won't ever get another group other than them in the future. Should have known, our hound growing up was amazing. BIT of a mystery to what he was, since he was imported into this country then something happened that he got abandoned at a shelter. We think either Polish or Schiller. And then my first personal dog is a Treeing walker and Catahoula mix.

I also have a redbone coonhound. He is so protective and playful and a great family dog. Although when he sees other dogs be goes ballistic and is like “LETMEE SNIFF YOU.” Sometimes he is crazy but we love him and he will always protect his family.

Is there a point to training your dog to spin around or is that just for fun and to work on focus and discipline?

Not sure how tall your Redbone is by mine is 28 inches at the shoulders when he sits and gives his paw he always swipes it toward you not lift it. I will explain better he will lift it kind a high and then reach out and down. Sammy is long legged and long body. Was wondering if yours does that as well?

Would love know how you accomplished this with your redbone- we just recently rescued one who is 6months to a year. It's been stressful

As someone with coonhounds... accept the chaos lol there's a balance but they definitely aren't Labradors. You'll find your balance 🥰 One of mine is currently messing with a skunk... He gets to sleep outside tonight lol
