I don't have either. And I only have 1/18 and smaller crawlers... me personally , would have more fun with the scout

Dude you aught to try a 1/10th scale. They are a lot of fun!

The Gen9 is a fun truck - but you are right. It isn't even a comparison!

I’ve decided most RTRs are trail trucks. And this is a comp truck. That’s the difference in its simplest for I think haha

@@HobbyDrop I agree! Especially depending on how serious and type of comps folks participate in.

@@RoadsideRC oh for sure, you won’t get the podium with this truck stock. But it can be modded!

With a few simple mods and some new tires/wheels, the gen 9 is pretty good. I have not tried the ascent yet, but my Gen9 is close to a stock trx4. I am not a comp guy, but I love my hiking trails ;)

See man! And that’s perfect then! Like the gen9 would be fun to trail with! The weight of it moves around nice and scale like!

There’s a lot of stuff that fits the Gen 8 that will fit on it. Treal & others already have the items marked that will fit I have a Treal axle new in the package I’ve had for along time for my Gen 8 so I’m going to put that in the front. I already have metal beadlocks & J Concepts Rupture tires & also a Fusion SE 1800 kv which is has made it super smooth but I’d have to say installing that 20% underdrive is the key.

Ok so there are lots of things out there already but not EVERYTHING is compatible… that makes sense

At the end of November, redcat is coming out with a new MOA you should pick one up and do a side-by-side comparison with the ascent

Oh for real? I didn’t know about that. I have always wanted an MOA.

Yeah, they’ve been keeping it hush-hush. It’s basically a upgraded ridge rock.

1/10 scale, metal frame rails, portals, rear lock/dig function, 4-wheel steering. Should come in only slightly higher priced than the Ridgerock! If we were friends on Facebook, I’d send you some pictures that I’ve seen of it

That new Ascent is really good for what it’s designed for,but I’ll take a new gen 9 scout instead.Im more into the scale crawlers even though it’s not as capable.

I agree with you. I bought the gen 9 for its scale and looks. All the other crawlers just looked like a toy for me. My final decision was between a axial gladiator vs gen 9. Price was not a decision factor.

Nice video man The gen 9 is supposed to be more “scale” and the ascent is supposed to be “comp” so if the ascent doesn’t perform better that would be pretty sad I’m not ragging on you by any means just saying. Nice job on the video!!
@HobbyDrop

Haha nah man your exactly right. The main those I wanted to show was the performance increase that you get by going with the ascent. I remember when I was knew to the hobby I didn’t fully understand what would make a “scale” rig less capable. So I thought I’d pass that gained knowledge along
