Great fall ride along the boundary of and into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. A few friends, including my cousin Randy from Washington, took some backroads to Cosby, TN, where we picked up highway 32, which we affectionately refer to as the Redneck Dragon. 32 skates along the east boundary of the Smokies, not unlike it's twin on the west end, Tail of the Dragon. We call it the Redneck Dragon because at the TN / NC state line, it turns to gravel for just over a mile. We scrambled on the gravel to the Cataloochee section of the park to hopefully see some elk but no luck. The elk had done some scrambling themselves. A fine day on 2 wheels on some curvy slab and easy dirt and gravel through some beautiful country.
