The exhaust wrap helps to promote better low pressure zones to keep exhaust gas speed high for less reversion

Yes, besides it radiating less heat, for better rider and passenger comfort...it also does exactly what you say...speeds up the exhaust gas velocity for better performance.

Thanks for the info. I’ve made changes to my bike to include the DK filter relocation kit, Jaggs 10 Row fan assisted oil cooler and Its reduced my bike oil operating temperature by about 25 degrees. I live in West Texas and the riding season temps till about October are well above 95 degrees. My bike has Luv Jugs as well. The heat has never affected bike performance but it’s about as uncomfortable as all get out riding. I wrapped my header pipes about a year ago and that helped as well. Thanks for all the good info. 2016 HD Streetglide Special, 110 high compression big bore kit.

Yeah, in that situation it is either let her idle for a while (probably ok, but I don't like that idea) or to put a strong fan on it til it completely dries.

You do not. Only if you have are not getting your oil temps down with one oil cooler, should you consider a second oil cooler. The oil filter relocation does NOT require an oil cooler, or any specific oil cooler.

Yep, they run hot. There is an entire series on how to reduce the heat at the following link. There is no one big thing to do...but a combination of a lot of little things do make a big difference. Suggestion is to start doing them one by one until you get it where it needs to be. kzitem.info/door/PLb3bvZgbH92_3s-2vv63QggFJ3nteFd_C

it is my left side that burns me like bacon. My 09 Street Glide transmission cover sticks out so far and when I put my foot down, it burns the side of my leg. A 1 minute traffic light feels like a 7 minute blow torch. Any suggestions for that?

No offense..but if you are wearing long pants and it is burning, the whole power-plant is running too hot. I would look at the report linked below and start working thru the list to cool it down. The very first thing you can do is get your floorboard out away from the left side a bit using these- www.dkcustomproducts.com/rider-floorboard-extensions-for-2009-up-harley-fl-touring-models-dk-tr-flb-ext-09.htm Here are the other things you can do- www.dkcustomproducts.com/why-how-to-cool-down-the-twin-cam-engine-part-i-dk-cl-tc-dn-1.htm

@@DKCustomProducts no offense taken, I appreciate the reply with info. I stated its my transmission, its my primary cover that burns me. Not sure if thats the same thing, this is my first Harley so I'm still learning everything. I just know my rice burners NEVER burned me like this Dyna does. It burns me when I come to a stop and put my left foot down. The primary cover sticks out so far and my leg is against it at a stop. I'll check out the links but this is not a floor board issue, it is for sure a heat issue that maybe Harley will need to address since I bought the warranty through them.

Does removing the cat affect the factory warranty?
@DKCustomProducts
3 жыл бұрын
Good question. It should not, however, if you have a 2017 or later HD, the EPA says that it does. So if you do a cat delete on a 2017 or later, and are still under factory warranty, if you need to take it in for warranty work, either don't tell them, or put a factory header back on before taking it in. It is total politics and money grabbing. There is absolutely NOTHING about removing the cat that can have any negative effect on the bike, so having it affect the warranty is actually a violation of the consumer rights Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. But it is not worth fighting HD and the EPA on it.

@@JudgeVandelay Understood. Next time you might want to consider a 3rd party warranty company. Less expensive, honored by all HD Dealerships, and no bogus restrictions like the HD branded extended warranty.
