I have a question. With Je me lave. I wash myself, would you say myself, or leave it out? Or like when someone says Je me suis réveillé. I woke up. In english it would be I woke myself up?
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
4 жыл бұрын
It's a very simple question with a very complicated answer 😅 In general, you should not add "myself - moi-même" => Je me lave, Je me réveille But, if you want to emphasize the fact that you do it yourself, you can add "moi-même" For example, if you have a disability and you want to point out that you don't need anybody to take a shower, you can say "Je me lave moi-même". If you are the kind of person to wake up without an alarm, you. could also say "Je me réveille moi-même, je n'ai pas besoin de réveil". So none of them are wrong. However most of the time you will use just the verb with myself.

@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Alrighty, thank you. Just gets confusing, I was learning about the verb to wash. So I always assumed Je me lave, meant to wash myself.
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
4 жыл бұрын
@@thelifeofme5221 It means "To wash myself". Like I said, you should not add MOI-MÊME at the end unless it is to emphasize the action

@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane This gets sooooo confusing. Sometimes they have the myself, sometimes they don't. I can't even imagine trying to learn english though.
@thelifeofme5221

@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane So I think I understand. They don't usually if translating into english from french, include the myself, but it's just implied. So like again, Je Me Lave, I wash (Myself), implied not literally. Or I get out of bed. Thanks!
