These talks have been so encouraging while pregnant, I also loved ina Mae gaskin’s Ted talk, I look forward to my third birth second natural labor, I feel capable and powerful but it’s interesting the reaction we get when we tell people we are planning on natural birth

How good is Ina May Gaskin’s talk! It led me on to her book Spiritual Midwifery, which is AMAZING. I’m so looking forward to labour! Hope yours was all you imagined x

Wonderful! Never a truer word spoken. The media is responsible for some horrible images of birth which become the 'norm'. It is time that this negative image was changed. Thank you Nicola I support everything you say and do.

That was absolutely wonderful thank you doula 🙆 my giving birth to my son was the most profound, beautiful, life-changing experience. My little boy makes me a better person, a little bit each day that goes by.

This reminds me of the horrible stories I was told as a little girl about childbirth. My mother always told me how she almost died giving birth to me. I will change the storyline 🤞🏼💕

I think that's the best way to go. It should be special and private i also heard that you have a better pain management when your the most comfortable.

Eli Beauty how was your home birth?

Unfortunately I didnt, I ended up going to the hospital which I regret. The doctor clamped the cord right away after my boy was born when I told them to delay it. The doctor also dislocated my babys left arm to get him out.The nurses took my baby away from me for at least 5 hours to evaluate him and I really wanted my baby next to me right after being born. Maybe all hospitals are different but I wasnt happy with the hospital. If in the future I decide to have another baby I would definitely have a homebirth.

I was traumatized during my first child’s birth bc I had an undiagnosed condition that made giving birth and recovery (and a few other things) extremely painful. No one at my hospital was the least bit caring during my labor. My condition is now gone, and I cannot wait to be pregnant again and have a second chance at a loving caring home birth or birth center birth.

In the Walking Dead, the son doesn't cut her open, its the girl who does the cutting. The son does end up shooting his mom after she has been infected as a zombie. I clearly remember that scene...very traumatic!!

I love these ted talks, because the media has changed the way we view birth. But.....birth is scary and lots of things can go wrong. My first pregnancy ended at 26 weeks with my water completely rupturing and needing an emergency c section because the baby was breech. She was in the nicu for 3 months. A woman at my church had a home birth and the baby died and she nearly bled to death. One of my best friends had normal pregnancy and the baby was delivered dead. It's not all wonderful happy stuff.
