Should have sold them a new walking box with a new condensing unit and Evaporator, What a filthy walking box.Unfortunately this is what you run into. Health department time

Why pressure test 100psi. Should be higher ?!
@mikerefrigeration5736
Жыл бұрын
100 psi is fine when you are working with old equipment. You dont want to cause a leak by overpressureizing old equipment. The evaporator was about 40 yrs old. Also 100 psi pressure test is fine when you have digital gauges wigh higher resolution.

Heat the side of the reciever from top to bottom for about 10 to 15 seconds. Feel it with the back of your index finger. If its hot its vapor. If its cool then its liquid. If you have fan cycle control, make sure you pump the system down before you check. If youre reciever is hot at the bottom you are very short of refrigerant.

@@kenallen9470 no problem. Sight glass only tells you that you have enough liquid refrigerant to reach the dip tube inside the reviever. Units with a head master will need additional refrigerant in winter time.

👍🇺🇸💪❄️ Great vid thanks. How high is too high for start cap reading?

Depends on the compressor, always check the manual. But caps are generally not very precise components in this context. +20% or so is fine.
