As an alcoholic who got my life back on track and made some really tough amends, I 1000% support the effort this person is putting into rebuilding themself and their life. Amends are rough, not everyone will see where they're at and may harbor resentments or just flat out not want anything to do with them, but putting one foot in front of the other to make things right is huge 🧡

You know what's also a becoming big problem in the Pokemon community? People who try to justify this sort of behaviour. Anytime someone posts about theft on Reddit you get the "stealing is OK and if you don't agree you are a corpo bootlicker" squad flooding the comments of those posts. If you try and point out that stealing is wrong you'll get attacked for "defending corporations" or "attacking poor people" This is especially prominent with people buying stolen Pokemon products on Reddit and then being proud about getting a "good deal" on it because "it's not my problem if it's stolen" I worry about the direction some of the community of this hobby is going sometimes.
@OpossumBud
10 күн бұрын
Agreed and if people continue to make bad choices after acknowledging it after given multiple chances, it’s on them. Stealing is never ok as well. If someone makes a genuine effort I acknowledge the crap they did and repair it though, then people deserve at least a chance to do well. IMO of course

I didnt steal anything per se, but.. I was trying to start a sealed collection and I bought a Obsidian Flames ETB from Target and when I got all the way home, I noticed it had a tear in the plastic (which bothered the crap outta me) because I had the intention of keeping it sealed.. I thought since it was a "Charizard set" that it would age well (boy was I wrong). Went back to Target and did the ole switcheroo for a non-ripped one. I felt SO guilty in myself.. Lol. Ended up opening the ETB I swapped out that had a better seal, and it didn't even matter. I was trying to justify it to myself in my head that it wasn't stealing , etc etc. When in reality if I got caught, it would've been so stupid. Pokemon can make you do some dumb shit sometimes. Even if you know better. Jokes on me too, because Obsidian Flames is a goofy set. I even collected the master set, and also paid $115 for the SIR Charizard Single off Troll-and-Toad when it was fairly new because I never expected to pull the chase card myself, and I had a booster box coming in the mail at the same time. Ended up pulling the SIR Charizard in booster box and already had bought the single. Felt like a real dumbass especially cuz its a 50$ card now. Live and learn I guess 🤷♂ Now I have a PSA 9 SIR OBF Charizard (my first graded card I pulled and sent off)

@@BloopeR_Collects because the return policy on TCG items, assumed they would just say no to switching them out. "All sales final", idk I'm retarded. But that was probably the worse thing I did. I felt so dumb.. and guilty. My self conscience was telling me how stupid I was too 😂
@BloopeR_Collects
10 күн бұрын
@@JF.90 I feel you on that. I'd say if you tried to at least first attempt a return, you probably would have felt way better about the whole situation. Gotta remember, retail workers are just like us. You never know who you are going to get. They could have been a collector too and felt that pain and let you do it. I feel you though. I am glad you felt guilty even though technically you didn't hurt anyone. That just means you have a good conscience and moral compass.
@JF.90
10 күн бұрын
@@BloopeR_Collects Yeah my conscience is pretty strong. That was completely out of character for me, and I was so paranoid the entire time because Target has so many cameras. After I did it too, I realized if I did happen to get caught how stupid the consequences would've been for something so minor, considering I'm an adult. I didn't get caught, but Pokemon can make you do crazy stuff. In my mind I was trying to justify it to myself that it wasn't stealing and I just wanted a more sealed one. I didn't even tamper with the other ETB like stealing packs or anything. Just got OCD about the tiniest tear in the seal. I thought OBF would go up. It tanked hard lol. Even to this day just last week I saw two Crown Zenith ETB torn open and only the energy and promo left behind. Breaks my heart. People just yoinked the packs and leave the trash in the aisle. I've never stolen a pack...
