Today we will learn how to conjugate and use the Regular Verbs in Simple Past Tense in English 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧Let's get it started! ☺️😊😃😄👌
Regular verbs in the simple past tense refer to actions or states that were completed in the past. To form the simple past tense of most regular verbs, you add “-ed” to the base form. For example:
* “talk” becomes “talked”
* “clean” becomes “cleaned”
* “play” becomes “played”
To use them in sentences, you follow this structure: Subject + regular verb in simple past + object. For instance:
* “I talked to my friend yesterday.”
* “She cleaned her room last weekend.”
* “We played soccer after school.”
Remember, the spelling rules can change a bit with verbs ending in “y” or consonants, and you don’t add “-ed” for irregular verbs.
