I have travelled on this Reichsautobahn many times, both on the Russiand and Polish sides. It was completed only between Elbing and Konigsberg, and is for the most part two-lane. Before the Poles resurfaced it, travelling here was really like being in a time-warp. The other section that was completed is between Berlin and Stettin, which is heavily used.

I can imagine that. To me, it also seemed like a place wrapped in time as most of Ostpreussen still is relatively underdeveloped and left until now. It's a beautiful place on earth with a stunning, yet sad history.

As with the railroads not being utilized any longer, the last parts of Berlinka will most probably disappear in the coming years. In poor countries, this process is longer than seen in i.e. Western Europe.
