Ladson-Billings (2021) calls for a “hard reset” of our education system in a post-pandemic world. This involves a critical assessment of our personal and organizational thoughts and beliefs in order to reify the promise to our students and families. Reflection involves recognizing both individual and organizational missteps to enact a plan to restore and repair relationships due to those mistakes. Parents of students with IEPs often feel distanced from conversations about their child’s education. A drastic shift away from this exclusion is central to the facilitation of an authentic, collaborative remix that serves all.
