Using the subwoofer selector, REL suggest the Classic 98 for the Wharfdale Lintons for music and movies.

Sounds wonderful with my Linton's. They can do alot of bass ,yes , but... the 98 adds that lowest bottom , in a luscious way.

My understanding is there are problems connecting high level to the sub using their method when connecting to Class D amps (e.g. Marantz Model 30) that is detrimental to the amp ????

There can be due to the way the ground works on a Class D amp, but here is the way you connect rel.net/blog/2017-12-27/how-to/connect-rel-class-d-gear/ Thanks for watching and sharing.

@@AudioAdvice Ah.... seems a bit involved especially if all I have is a two channel amp and all my inputs are used.. Model 30 amp does not have LFE's either that I can use in lieu of speaker level. Looks like I will be out of luck ?..

@@ptg01 The Model 30 has a true chassis ground on the back, its next to the phono input. You would use that per the instructions for units that have a actual chassis ground. Hopefully you will support out channel and small business and purchase your REL sub from Audio Advice.

I own two RELs subwoofers. The S3 line a little old but hard to adjust. One is down so I need to send the back plate in if I can get it off. I removed all 12 screws yet it want come off it’s on pretty good. Any suggestions on how to get it off? Let me know thanks

Sorry, without seeing it in person, that is hard to say. It probably had some sort of seal that is now stuck and you will need to carefully pry it out.

I really want a nice looking subwoofer for my living room, but I want a ported one with lower frequency response for movies. It's a shame it's so hard to find one that's not an ugly black box.

Yes, that is just what we stated. There are now very few subs with a wooden look and ported. But you are in luck as we are running a sale on exactly what you are after. www.audioadvice.com/jbl-hdi-1200p-12-inch-powered-speaker+color-Walnut

I’m guessing physics rules when it comes to subs. That said, perhaps it’s 2 difficult & expensive 4 builders 2 veneer a whale with 2 or more blow holes 🐳🤣 Subsequently, I have a piano black FVX12SE sitting in my living room 🐋🤣🖤 Nonetheless, the 98 & the KC 62 are the finalists 4 my bedroom set up. Just gotta decide which one 🤔
