Have to destroy the relay to check it??? How do you check one without breaking it apart? Supply power on and off to see if different contact pins register voltage? Can they be checked for continuity with an ohm meter?

check the DC coil voltage, make sure it's getting it. Hear the click of the relay engaging or put a finger on it to feel it click. Best to test the contacts with a load, whatever the relay normally supplies power to, like its compressor or heater, etc. They draw more current than a meter even LoZ, so that's the best test. But even then you can have intermittent connection between the contacts, so it's ideal to test multiple times.

Electronics Projects have a dryer getting to hot. All stats and the thermistor check good (electrically). Thought the relay might be sticking. Could it be one of the very small capacitors on the board?

@@rickeykeeton71 if the relay was sticking, it would blow a thermal limiter. I would check to make sure the vent is clear. How hot is 'too hot'? When I test the drum temp, I usually get between 180 - 260 F on 'high', depending on model and if it's a gas or electric dryer and the vent configuration.
